Whitmer is literally too fricking stupid to handle a situation like this.

This goes to show how this virus bullshite has completely caused some governors to trip over themselves trying to be the most draconian while ignoring other real and pressing problems that stand to have much more acutely detrimental effects.
Government isn’t there to help people, only to expand its own power.

Because it's easy to get in front of the fawning media and order people to stay home, backed by your more than willing gestapo police. You just say a few words, journalists suck you off, and let the peasants worry about doing the dirty work and who it impacts.
It's much, much harder to actually try and fix the problems in your state, especially ones like infrastructure.
Politicians, by default, will always take the easy way out. Especially if it involves press coverage.

Government of the people, by the government, for the government.

She is too fricking stupid to pour piss out of a boot. Even if you tell her that instructions are on the heel.

Michigan is the Florida of the Midwest
i dunno, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio are solidly in the running. Then there's Wisconsin, which is its own sort of special. I'd actually say Wisconsin has the most analogs to Florida.

Looks like these are private dams so infrastructure bills wouldn’t have helped.

I read they were private dams until earlier this year. The private owners ignored warnings from the FERC that one of these dams was in need of repairs and upgrades. A coalition of a few counties in Michigan bought a handful of dams, including one of these, with plans to upgrade and repair them.
But let's not let facts get in the way of a Dem-bashing party.
