But the high STD rate in Lubbock obviously means loose women. So they got that going for them.

Is there really much of any difference between the Houston - Dallas - Atlanta - Charlotte type of city?
Mids 20s-30s professionals ubering to bars, breweries, brunch, and going to boutique workout classes. (not saying I don't do any of that). Just kinda all seems like the same thing.

They're both fine. I'd rather be closer to the coast, so Houston for me.
I have lived in both (live in DFW area now) and the coast does make Houston better. Although, if you are more into pretentious, fake boobied woman Dallas is the place to be.

I going to give you the correct answer - Frisco, TX
You have to be a moron to live in Dallas County or City. Complete idiots are the elected officials there now.
I would not live in Houston, but that is because the weather sucks arse there. You LA people might be OK with that though.

I think you're right but that's why the distinguishing factors are weather, proximity to cool places/other cities, demographic considerations, etc. Overall they are similar. Largely new growth large cities that are probably in their respective primes.

Dallas is nicer overall. Weather is better.
Weather in Dallas is just as hot as Houston and Dallas has ice storms, sleet and snow in the winter.
We have been in Houston for 16 years now and have no intention of moving any time soon. Grew up in BR btw.

Would probably have to give the east coast cities the nod there.

Weather is better in Dallas? Really?

Houston is better but im bias, i'm from H-Town. But it depends on your preference:
Houston - Older city with more of a business mindset type of appeal. Huge city. Every part of the city has a little bit of something different. Midtown, Montrose, Katy, Sugarland, etc. Not as flashy or modern or "new" but welcoming to new comers.
Dallas - Feels like a younger city. Still expanding. Building new sky rise condos and town homes all around inner city. More flashy in the "Who you know" type of way and what you own and how you can flash it. But that's mostly around the Uptown area. Great place if your a young professional who likes to party or live a city life.
Personally, I pick Houston but thats home so i'm always bias. But if I were fresh out of college again and early 20's, I give Dallas a few years for fun.

To me it is
I prefer having real fall and at least a few weeks of winter. Houston is noticeably swampier than Dallas and without the falloff in temps, in my experience.
Extreme weather is probably a draw, I guess.
FWIW weather preference is a considerable reason why I've fought possible moves to Dallas too. Neither is great in that regard.

Prove me wrong Dallas politics and government is not an absolute shitshow.
Frisco is becoming pretty damn urban and a crap load of 20s-30s live there now.
Dallas is a shell of its former self. All that money is slowly coming North.
One bonus for Dallas though, you can steal up to $750
