The biggest name in golf will soon call North Texas home.

Frisco city leaders approved a $500 million deal to bring in the brand new Professional Golfers Association of America headquarters along with championship-caliber golf courses and a resort.

There will be an Omni Hotel Conference Center and two championship-caliber semipublic golf courses. They should all be completed in summer of 2022.

Damn that sounds like a pretty aggressive schedule to complete all of it by 2022.

Huge score. Looking forward to seeing how the courses factor into the Tour.

Why would they move to a liberal shithole like Texas?

Facts : Unlike the rest of the South, however, Texas voters were never especially supportive of the various third-party candidacies of Southern Democrats. ... Republicans became increasingly dominant in national elections in white-majority Texas. The last Democratic presidential candidate to win the state was Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Frisco check mating their neighbor McKinney who thought they were the bees knees of NTX golf when they got a TPC course. Ha.

Why move it to such a cold climate?

I know it’s all financial but FL is the golf capital of the US.

Given the choice of the two to live, give me McKinney everyday and twice on Sunday. PGA is a great get for Frisco and Collin County.

Yeah mckinney hasnt tried to become a "city" to compete with plano as much as frisco.

Still pretty crazy how much that area has changed though since I was a kid. Interesting to see how things can change in less than 20yrs when done right.

It’s only early December though. I’m not saying it’s Boston but it’s still much too cold to consistently play year round for most. It’s 29 degrees there this morning.

Yeah I agree, I think think that was by design by McKinney to retain that small town feel.

Amazing the transformation of Collin in the last 20years, unrecognizable.
