This will probably be the nail in the coffin for that area.

I used to love going to Pecan Lodge, Angry Dog, and Cane Rosso.

Deep Ellum these days is where the weirdos, undesirables, and hood rats go to party because they're unwelcome in the trendier, more upscale Uptown and Knox-Henderson neighborhoods.

Those people will still party there and the establishments will continue to make money.

Pre-Covid it had started getting decent. Decent enough I did multiple hosting of happy hours on some of the rooftop bars when the weather was nice. I probably spent $50,000 in total in the area now I wouldn’t drive through it unless I had to.

Deep Ellum is a vibrant neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, known for its rich cultural scene. It features lively street art, music venues, and a variety of dining and shopping options. The area spans approximately 2.5 square miles and is home to around 3,000 residents

Not to mention there’s another Cane Rosso in Lakeview.

Deep Ellum even 4-5 years ago was always party by day gtfo by sunset. Back Yard was a great place to watch football.

I was in Deep Ellum last night for a concert and it was insane. Tried to uber out and all roads were blocked by police. Ended up having to walk over a mile to Baylor Hospital (I figured this area would at least be safe with EMS and police presence) to get an Uber ride. I hadn’t been down there in several years and will not be going back
