Probably not a good idea to form another gathering the next day when no one knows the extent of this.

But hey, a nice gesture

Yeah exactly. It may get squashed by authorities but let it be known what you're trying to do. They're heavily criticized for not giving a shite about violence against police officers or black on black crime, so making a gesture like this is a damn good start IMO.

They can protest it wherever they want. I guess your opinion is that black lives only matter when a white cop shoots a black guy. That's the only time people get all up in arms about stuff. Otherwise, black lives don't matter, right?

Alternatively, why should we expect people to ignore an injustice because there are other injustices that occur?

With this statement, you're basically saying to ignore your body being on fire because you stubbed your toe

You can have all of the "discussions" you want. Keep doing them because they have obviously been so effective over the past 8 years. Meanwhile, things you are supposedly discussing are getting worse because you're too busy discussing and not doing.

Anyway, I'm crashing. Hopefully more is known about these perps in the morning. Props to the boys in blue who ran towards the shooting. People do appreciate what they do

Agreed. I'll leave it at that at this point.

Still no confirmation on the apparent suicide of the suspect, but the scene seems to be shifted from standoff to evidence gathering. SWAT officers out of the building

I bet this is how it went down. They told the suspect he can come out peacefully or they will throw some grenades in there. He didn't want his arms and legs blown off and he didn't want to be taken into custody so he shot himself in the face.

No, all because 50+ shots were fired at police officers and civilians by two or more gunmen with long guns during a protest where this guy was also seen.

Being a person of interest is a given at that point.

his lawyer is holding a presser right now

I get that it would really fricking suck to called a suspect in a mass shooting when you did nothing wrong and in some ways they are smart to get out in front of everything but... I dunno... I think maybe they should wait a couple days to be demanding apologies...

Open carrying at an event where 5 possibly 6 cops were killed. Yea common sense says you'll be questioned. He was released without being charged, so now he's just playing victim for attention.

He should realize it was a case of bad luck, (he probably does) but he's playing it up for attention.

I find it amazing they caught 3 alive. How did they pull that off?

There is some speculation that only one of the 3 is actually another shooter, but I agree, it is unlikely yet optimal that they were apprehended alive.

Yeah this guy was executed if thats the one yall are referring. Reportedly, the cop shot the perp first and the bullet bounced off his armor. Then he guessed wrong.

its not real clear in the gif but it sure looks like that cop someone posted earlier.

The good news is this is the guy who ended up offing himself.

link below graphic in nature.

Man that scene at parkland was gut wrenching. Officers saluting the fallen officers being loaded up for transport to the ME. Now the motorcade is going out.
