Same age as his dad when NASCAR started its nosedive. Most folks today wouldn’t believe that it was more popular than baseball at one point.

Like Earnhardt into the wall.

RIP Intimidator.
His death saved many lives if that's any consolation.

If a pilot dies because he crashed his plane, he’s not remembered as a great pilot.

I remember my trips to Talladega and Daytona in late 90s - early 2000s. Man NASCAR was fun back then.

The era of Earnhardt, Gordan, Martin, Jarrett, the Labontes, and the rest is GOAT.

I wasn't a huge NASCAR fan, but I vividly remember the day of the crash and understanding the significance of that event.

Amazingly enough, you think the two are comparable, dumbass

Pilots are in the transportation business. They are trying to get from Point A to Point B safely.

Race car drivers are not in the transportation business. They are trying to get to Point B as fast as possible, surrounded by others doing the same thing.

Not even remotely comparable, unless the pilots in question are military fighter pilots.

Hundreds of brilliant pilots have died in plane crashes, actually.

This is also a very dumb comparison.

a lot of WWII vets would probably disagree with this statement as they lost a lot of great friends and great pilots

Not surprised. There are still people with Dale Sr. shrines in their front yards when you drive around NASCAR country in rural areas.

You are correct. An airline pilot actually knows how to turn right.

Military pilots want to get from Point A to Point B safely.

They also want to either stop others from getting to our Point B or erasing the others' Point B.

I have seen the Dale Sr Oreo package in a gallon size zip lock that was thumbtacked to the wall.
