I’m driving from BR to Lafayette today. Right on schedule until I hit traffic coming off Atchafalaya overpass near Henderson. Now, Waze is telling me it’ll take over 2 hours to reach Laffy from here. It would take less time to turn around, go back to BR, and take Hwy. 190.

What in the hell are you Lafayette baws up to?

NB4: Dear Facebook.

I was stuck for almost 3 hours. One lane is finally open so moving slowly instead of totally stuck. Truck fire.

Troop I Traffic Advisory: Troopers are currently investigating a minor-injury crash/vehicle fire on #I10 westbound near MM 106 (between Breaux Bridge & #Lafayette). Both lanes are closed at this time, & westbound traffic is being diverted at Breaux Bridge.

For one, the 18 Wheelers need to stay their asses in the right lane. Second, the lanes are very narrow due to construction and you know the jacked up duallies can't fit in one lane.

3 hour standstill eastbound friday night early sat am, because a big rig bounced along the guard rail for about a mile at the beginning of the bridge... which later caused another big rig accident that closed in near i49...

UPDATE: I-10 west is now back OPEN at LA-415. Significant delays persist back into Baton Rouge.

UPDATE: Traffic appears to be flowing again on I-10 west near Breaux Bridge. So I-10 west *should* be a viable route from Baton Rouge to Lafayette and beyond.

It has been 3 hours since I came off the Spillway heading to Laffy, and I’ve made it all the way to 1/2 mile east of Breaux Bridge. Still bumper to bumper. And now I see eastbound is starting to back up. Utterly ridiculous.

The best time for travel between BR and Lafayette this week is between 1am and 5am

I-10 is a traffic nightmare from Jennings all the way to the state line. Avoid it at all costs. I’ve learned my lesson. Sat on the basin bridge for hours, went from 70 to a standstill one too many times. I’m done. I’ll take the extra 20 Miles knowing it’ll be a peaceful drive.

Drove from Lafayette to west Houston Friday. The drive there was easy cause it was early. I didn’t have ANY traffic issues in Houston then as soon as I got to LC it was congested then around Jennings it got to stop and go. By the time I reached Crowley it was a standstill. I-10 in Louisiana blows. I’ll only take it if it’s late at night or at the crack of dawn. That’s my two cents. I spent a lot of time on I-10 this year and am officially done

I left Baton Rouge at 11:30 this morning on I-10 west. At this point it had been closed in Breaux Bridge for approximately 2 hours. The enormous LED road sign before 415 reads “BUZZED DRIVING IS DRUNK DRIVING”. Thank goodness for Waze.

And can they get the memo to Port Barre that I-10 is closed and to adjust thier red light accordingly?!? WTF?

I saw that coming east. Didn't know what happened, but the line was long and building.
Felt bad for those stuck.

You could always just get off at Henderson and cut through Arnaudville to get to Lafayette.

We travel this a lot. And I can honestly say I see more vehicles than truckers driving unsafely. Lots of idiotic drivers with Texas plates.

LaDOTD is responsible for the entire stretch of traffic. If these idiots would just expand I-10 to 8 lanes this wouldn't be a problem and businesses would come to Louisiana.

Thank the good Lord above I’m a country baw.

Needed to get from Lafayette to Breaux Bridge then Henderson, so I took all the back country roads that I’ve been fishing, mud riding, had bonfires on from my youth. Got around no problem.
