Over the Thanksgiving holidays, we were talking about my 12 year old and boys. She interjected and said, “I don’t have time for relationships because of school. Education always first.”

You have a smart kid. She learned how to lie early.

OK baws......my daughter (13) asked to go to the movies with a boy (14) earlier today. I said NO!
So now she's not talking to me and my wife says I am being harsh. WTF?

Give her some rubbers before she's heads to the movies

When i was 12, my next door neighbor also 12, leaned onto my desk so her breast was supported, and her cleavage was maxed into view and said, "i have 38's."

She was pregnant when she was 15.

A couple in my 8th grade got married. Linda was pregnant.
Dude was first in his greek family to finish grammar school.
He went to work in family grocery. He was 13.

Chaperone them.

Tell that to a former coworker of mine who's daughter got pregnant at 12.

Yes. Thats always the biggest realistic threat that can derail their future(unless abortion).

Why wasnt she on birth control? Was she educated on safe sex?

13 is old enough with a 14 year old and chaperone. Not like he is going to try and hump her in the theater.

I guess you haven't read the stats showing kids having sex in some form before 12 ??????????????

Some of the best and most non-loose females I ever knew were nowhere near dating at 13.

I was a freshman in high school at 13. Initially I thought it sounded too young as well, but 8th/9th grade isn't all that unreasonable for kids to be dropped off at the movies and picked up when it is over.

Didn't lose my virginity for another few years. And it wasn't at a movie theater

Wasn't allowed to go on a date in a guy's car (or ride with any friends, females included) until I myself turned 16, which was stupid because I was nearly a year younger than most of my class (late birthday).

OP, no apostrophe to pluralize words

Stick to your guns. I wouldn't let my daughter date until she was sixteen and I had to meet the boy. Once when she was 14 she wanted to stay at a friends house but I could tell something was up , so I called her mother. The mom said that her and her husband were going out of town also that they were going to let her daughter have some friends over. I told the mother that my daughter wouldn't be coming over she told me that she " trusted" her daughter and I needed to trust mine. Anyway I didn't let my daughter go and nine months later this lady was a grandmother, her 14yr old had sex that weekend.... be an a-hole, be a dick that everyone hates mostly be a dad and stick to your guns

I would NEVER trust adolescent hormones. Those engage before their little brains engage.

13 is too young to date.

Women used to marry, have kids, milk the cow, churn the butter, clean the house and have dinner ready for when their husband got home off the plow.

Now they can't go watch a movie. This is why our society is full of mindless idiots worried about what pronoun to use to describe their gender

wrong... this is where me and my gf went around that age...and never saw a minute of the movie. Be extra suspicious if they say they going to see a movie that's been out for months..sure to be a damn near empty theatre
