Seems like just putting the tarp on the boat would be simpler
Not that its any of my business

Better than using finishing nails and wood glue

"That mercury is enough anchor for the tarp and the boat."...
Ok, so yesterday in the OB you downed my Yamaha, and today you down a mercury.. what motor- exactly- do you suggest as being the best brand? Just curious....

What's the point of a boat shed without a hoist?

Looks good to my non-nautical arse. If it blows away just build another for $50.00.

That is pretty impressive.

How do you get in/out of the boat?
Dive in and climb up the ladder of course.

Tell your dad to keep on being awesome.

he did a great job and should be proud of a very simple but effective design, but that said, I have a few points to critique.
should have used 8" pipe for the floats and they should be foam filled. at this point I would just add another 6" pipe filled with foam (or maybe 2) for adding more buoyancy, and then connect them together. with almost no weight on it, its sunk nearly half way so more floatation is needed for it.
the side poles should be going straight down into the pipe at a 90 degree angle straight up and not attach by connected to the side like that, you create a weak connection and breaking point by doing that.
the cross bars and roof supports are going to sag in the heat over time and get all droopy. also you need one cross brace at every set of side poles to give it proper support or a strong wind will twist it up and bend it apart.
it wont be long before the roof and cross bars sag so much it looks like its melting. it already looks like that has started. it can be saved if you take it apart and slide some aluminized conduit inside the pipe for the cross braces and the roof to keep it from sagging so it stays straight and rigid and then it should last you forever.
