Cutting off a boot in NOLA?

I just saw a car booted in CBD with two of those boots with high quality rubber/plastic connectors...
What keeps people from using high-grade tin snips and cutting them off, throwing them in the river, and being done with it?

I know it pisses them off that they scan my license plate and see a couple grand in tickets. Too bad I am in the driveway and untouchable.

They drive by, scan everyone's plate. If you have an outstanding ticket they can boot you for a civil judgement.

Cut it off, go to DMV tell them your license plate was stolen.

An auto maker should come out with quick-disconnect tires. Just pop that thing off like a bike tire, slap on a new one and leave.

They charge a $450 tamper fee for boot replacement. But it's $200 to get it off. It makes more sense to cut it off, then go get a new plate. The nola tickets are plate attached, not vin attached.

Take your license plate off your car, so they can't scan the plate.
I've been told that if a plate is not on the car, they can still read the VIN under the windshield glass and cross reference it your plate number. So I got a piece of this tape like stuff from a windshield guy I know and put that on the glass over the VIN. The only way to get the tape off is with a razor blade and it's still tough to get off.
