Sounds like someone's company didn't pony-up for CRM training.

If used correctly, then a CRM can be very valuable.

If not, then it's a waste of time and money.

When it is used to track activity only, then yes it is awful. I will never work for a company that uses its CRM to track activity of its sales professionals. I've been there and been through sales meetings where it was the same thing every week - spend 45 minutes talking about activity tracking. I currently use salesforce and I use it to keep myself organized and send quotes and as an information hub. Our activities are not tracked, and it does definitely benifit me.

Just my personal experience, but idk why these roles get paid.

Roles who “manage” projects without actually working on them.

This will be followed by an array of duties that don’t contribute to the scope of a contract in anyway.

Sure there are some good folks who do the role, they are wonderful. But that software is a checklist that lets people show work who don’t do a damn thing to bring the money in.

What a farce. Never over promise, but over deliver seems like a simple rule that shouldn’t get broken all the time. More wasted money.

It’s a marketing tool pretending to be a bad CRM.

I am here for this thread-

We have Salesforce but was looking at switching over to HubSpot. Was in on a few demos.

See the benefit for our marketing team to switch, but was weary it may not be worth the little cost savings for sales tracking and data we have in our existing salesforce platform.

If i interview for a company that uses Salesforce, I'm automatically out. It is by far the most tedious, time consuming, POS micromanaging CRM on the planet. frick Salesforce and the horse it rode in on.

I forget what variation of CRM we use, but it is pure garbage. It's always down and having issues. You'd think a $40B company could do a better job, but no.

As bad as SFDC came be you can at least run your business off of it. HS CRM approach is to counter just about everything most people complain about salesforce. It’s mostly smoke and mirrors.

Or customize the tool for the specific needs of the company.

There are bad CRM softwares out there, sure.

CRM software when actually used by the sales team/management correctly is a fantastic tool, though, assuming it is set up correctly and users actually use it.

Nah guy was probably on his phone during training.

Getting sales people to pay attention to software training is like getting 5 year olds to watch a documentary.
