Current situation in Saigon

Hot and humid as balls. Woke up drunk at 12:20pm, killing time until my 11:00pm flight home by way of Haneda. The past 2 nights are a blur but I can positively say, if you have money you can have absolutely anything you want. Arm candy for days.
The street people here are really good folks. Just this afternoon, I’ve had 3 shoe shines and a 1 hour massage with two 19 year olds. I told them I don’t need a massage but I do want to massage them, and they were marvelously compliant.

Where did you stay? District 1? I never saw much shoe shining activity, but was it actually a shoe shine or was it similar to how a "hot toc" in certain parts of the city isn't actually gonna get you a "haircut"

I stayed at the Sheraton, brother. I had time to kill so I walked around, and surreptitiously found the shoe shine district. I’m wearing sneakers l I try to get to know them. They’re good people just trying to make a buck. The last one’s name was Huang. I just gave him 100000 VND and we talked. Good dude.
Man it’s been fun. 3 nights total. I have a friend who’s from here, we went to Tokyo for work last week and took a side trip here. Private clubs man, holy shite. Will be coming back at some point!

It is a very fun place and I enjoy how far my yanqui dollar lasts over there. I went twice last year, I'll be back there for a month in July.

Shhh… keep it down brother.. dont let everyone know how awesome it is over there for white guys…. Very easy to find a girlfriend, or three, that are very feminine with zero adams apple…. I have a buddy who just married a Vietnamese lady, lives in Hanoi and absolutely loves it.. but if you let everyone know, then the secret will be out and it’ll be ruined for those of us who are ‘in the know .’

Vietnam is not Thailand, where there is a Ladyboy culture. Women are beautiful and there are not hookers just walking around the districts.
I wouldn't call it poor - especially in Saigon. Unless you live in NYC, LA or Miami, I am guessing there are more high end hotels, restaurants and stores than your shithole. (I'm looking at you BR). And a simple bowl of pho on the street for $1.50 is just as or more complex as the almighty gumbo.
Do yourself a favor and see more of the world. Especially SE Asia.
