I disagree with this. I'm definitely not with the faux progressives who try to foist their appearance standards on others.
Overweight women generally aren't models because they don't photograph well. Models are usually tall because tall people photograph better. Gymnasts are usually very petite because of center of gravity issues. Do we need to demand tall gymnasts?
Size diversity is moronic. Fat people are generally less healthy.

It has reversed now. The poor women are the fat ones and the rich ones don't have jobs and still pay for yoga, personal trainers, plastic surgery, expensive healthy foods, and my favorite -- lululemon.
ETA:
Lobbying that "fat is beautiful" is very scary. It is unhealthy to carry excess fat and should never be glamorized. We don't have to fat shame fat kids, but we don't have to put half naked fatasses on billboards and claim they're beautiful either.

Of course it has nothing to do with diversity. "Diversity" in general is just a euphemism "equality of outcome." It's jealousy. It's a way for people to claim that they deserve what other people have earned.
Landwhales want to be told they have great bodies and are beautiful because they consider it "unfair" that fit girls work hard on their bodies and are considered beautiful.
