Jon Ham, explain Ethereum.

You’re right. I don’t understand why anyone should spend over $1,000 on one “Ether.” That’s why I don’t own it. You think you’re making a point?

Tell us why one Ether is worth over $1,000?

that does not entitle you to shite. They don't share profits with you. You are lucky if common shares even vote. and if/when they dissolve you are the last in line and never get shite either. Understanding the sham that legacy finance really is will make your transition to crypto easier. better start now

So owning stock in a business = scam

Owning digital strings of code = legit investment

who the frick wants to attempt to explain the value proposition of Ethereum to someone who probably doesn't even understand what a blockchain is?

it seems like the more logical expression from my explanations would be owning stock=owning crypto, no?

It’s Millennials that are into crypto not Gen Z.

its probably more of a foresight-capable thing and not a generational thing

Nah, Russian and dabigfella was better. I still keep a lookout for any Rolls-Royces around Houston so I can hopefully bump into him.

I think it's both. The people who have pitched crypto to me have ranged in age from 13 - 26 - I think that covers both.

ETA - none of these people have ever had a real job and can't even really take care of themselves - to the point that they can't do simple things like dishes, laundry, take care of a yard, do simple maintenance around a house - basically idiots. However, they all consider themselves to be the smartest people in the room. And just like the idiots on here - they think everyone older than them is a "boomer".

Life is going to be a really hard lesson for these kids.

I think you may be conflating the value of the technology/systems things like Ethereum are based on and the value of the crypto associated with such systems/tech. I don’t understand any of it, but I don’t need to understand any of it to be able to arrive to the conclusion that I’d rather hold cash and traditional investments than strings of digital code.

Considering that she can't define 1/100 of the words in my vocabulary and I have already had a successful career and a full education as well as a long history of profitable investing - I'm not too worried about it.

Yet, she understands crypto and you don't. By the way, I believe you are full of shite that a 13 year old pitched crypto to you

You’re right in that more Millennials own crypto than Gen Z, but when you consider how young Gen Z is and that they are not in as good a position financially as older generations, they are “heavy” into crypto.

I was in grade school when the beanie baby craze hit, and I think my generation (millenials) own that although I know all ages of people got caught up in that.

The CryptoBros on here are in outright denial right now. They have 100 excuses for what is happening and how BTC will be $100k in a matter of 'x' Years and you are an idiot if you don't think so

It's almost like we've seen MULTIPLE instances of massive price drops over the last 10 years, only to be follow by new all time highs thereafter.

What's also a recurring theme is the people like ITT that pop their champagne and toast whenever the drops to happen, for some reason I can't begin to understand. Of course they're nowhere to be found once the next rise up begins.

like clockwork. I could excuse the first couple of times, but to just keep doubling down on dumb is baffling.
