Have never even heard of this FTX company.
Can’t wait for this episode of American Greed. The whole company is likely just a front for cash flow for Biden

Just because securities laws may not cover these transactions doesn't mean no criminal law will.

That’s fine. People will very quickly learn their lesson and the market will correct itself.

DeFi takes the middleman out.. Code is law, the smart contracts are open source and immutable, and all reserves are verifiable by anyone anywhere.
You go to Uniswap and exchange ETH for USDC? That is done through a 'liquidity pool'. People put up pairs of tokens (in this case, USDC/ETH). The pool has a swap fee and that fee is dispersed proportionally among all liquidity providers, earning them a legit, non-ponzi yield.
Am I just stupid or does this not make any sense to anyone else?
I'm not disputing it, I just cannot make sense of how 'anyone anwhere' can validate reserves, pair up pairs of tokens with others, and swap through a 'liquidity pool.' Maybe I'm the dumb one, but this sounds like jargon that really doesn't mean a lot to 99% of the world.

Using real money to buy fake money. Dumb dumb dumb.
About as dumb as using real energy to create hydrogen to create less energy. More dumb shite from the greenflation mafia.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are now flowing out of FTX wallets, some speculate liquidators but it's late on a friday night, not typical times for such rapid heavy movements. Some withdrawals are being swapped from Tether to DAI. Hack or insider actions? $26 million here

They seem to be moving everything

After swapping USDT for DAI (more censorship-resistant?), they just swapped $44 million of stETH for ETH, eating huge slippage. This is super sketchy, no liquidator would be taking actions like this

General counsel @_Ryne_Miller says he doesn't know why the funds are moving. If part of a liquidation order, he would definitely be clued in. Must be malicious, the question is then whether it's an inside or outside job. Not great

I understand the benefit of crypto, but we are in the wild west phase of it.

I’m sorry but if you invested in crypto you are a fricking idiot and deserve this. Easy money is dangerous money. Learn your lesson and invest in the real market.

Didn't a lot of people buy bitcoin at like a nickel years ago, the risk of investing is doing your home work, but investing .05 vs 15K is a huge difference.

If you bought crypto outside of the past 2 years you're probably up bigger than 99% of stocks. So if you bought in during like 85% of the rest of time Bitcoin existed you are up.
