Depends on if I have a terminal illness or not. But I'm not sure I want to be around when my family and friends are all gone.

Unless they have their own air separation plant keeping units primed with LN2, no thanks.

I heard they've gone low on supply a few times and that Ted's head is cracked because of it...

I'll put it on my CC when they freeze me, pay it off when they unfreeze me.

Man I wish I had thought of this business model. Sell people something super expensive that you personally will never have to deliver

Right. The real ballsy decision would be to freeze yourself in your prime like Austin Powers.

yep. but if they can put the revive the brain why not just put it in a new body. i'm pretty sure the technology to make a completely robotic body will come before the ability to un-cryofreeze the brain haha we already most of the way there

Does Alcor teach you how to sew while you’re frozen?

If not, hard pass.

Seems like a good way to be out 220K unless there’s some binding agreement that the facility will remain open forever.

What happens when the founders great grandkids don’t want to operate a facility with a bunch of frozen corpses?

I am thinking of buying a few walk in freezers and only charge $50,000 per person.

Within 50 years we will have the ability to transfer one’s mind into a computer and be able to move it from one body to another. The mind will survive and the body will be expendable

out 220k when you are dead? can't take it to the grave. There are so many multi-millionaires that would never miss 220k

So at $220k a pop, this company has made $286 million? Not too shabby

Did the same math immediately. Made me wonder how many actually paid, and what the cost of “preserving” one body to the terms of the agreement would run

That’s not the point of concern.

Even if the technology is generated....who pays for the procedure? The providing of a new body? Is that part of the deal? It would be hilariously ironic if you sit on ice simply because that detail wasn’t ironed out.
