This Matthew Perry thing got me thinking again about people that actually boo-hoo over the death of a celebrity.

Let me tell you something, if you are a person that does this…..get help. Trust me when I tell you, there is something wrong with you.

You did not know this person personally. You have zero idea what they are like as a person. You were never in a personal relationship with them. They weren’t family, they weren’t even a friend.

You have friends from the past that have died and you didn’t cry about them. But you cry and sob over someone you don’t know???

If you know someone like this….cut and run immediately! This is an unstable person. This is a very weak person. I would even suggest a person like this is not really in touch with reality.

I get being bummed about certain famous deaths. I got really bummed out when Jimi Hendrix died. I was bummed when Reagan died. I mean really bummed! But did I cry? frick NO! I didn’t know them personally.

There are celebrity deaths that suck and I get feeling a sense of momentary depression and loss because they actually did contribute in a way that made your life more enjoyable……but to act like a loved one in your life died is truly bizarre.

Please, get a fricking grip.

Don’t tell me what to do before the sun comes up. Matthew was my friend and I’ll cry if I want to. Cry if I want to.

Not angry at all. Just amazed.

AND I totally understand that people grieve in different ways. But I’m talking about the death and grieving over a spouse, a child, any family member, a good friend, etc. But serious coping grief over a celebrity?

Get a life. No pun intended.

This whole post screams that you are the one who needs therapy.

Why are you so angry about other peoples feelings?

Pure projection.

Lets not pretend like someone crying over a death hurts anyone. They may not be crying specifically over the celebrity's death, it may bring up other memories or just remind us of the fragility of life and the passage of time.

Yes, sadly they do. I know I’ve stepped on countless snowflake’s toes with this observation but we are also leaning at the same time about the posters that are pissed about what I’ve said here.

I think those people are just becoming more aware of their own mortality in that moment. That celebrity likely was involved in something they enjoyed greatly when they were younger at a more simple time in their life.

What about people who cry over a fictitious character in a movie dying or just having a difficult time? Should they be institutionalized or neutered?

And when some people are really bummed, they cry.

Why do you think you’re any different just because your emotions were a little different? You clearly said you felt something when those celebs, who you didn’t know, died. So clearly their death had an emotional impact on you whether you actually shed a tear or not.

Get off your high horse.

I don’t think most people are crying over the death of the actual person. They are crying over the death of a part of their life. Maybe that celeb was in a movie that reminds them of a happier time or an actual loved one that they have lost.

I got a lot of downvotes and anger over my comment about the sticky.

I don't get it, but people love their celebrities.

Try this...you worry about you. A lot of people cried when JFK was assassinated, as well as when Elvis died. Just a suggestion as I don't give a $hit, but it may be worth a try.

When Elvis and Lennon died, you would have thought the world was ending. Just misplaced emotions.
