I love how the common response of the folks on the left is well it was worse in the 80s so it isn't that bad in their attempt to deflect from the problem of DAs letting violent, multiple felony pieces of shite out on low bond because "it is racist" not to. Just imagine if you used that line for some rare in todays society instance of actual racism/homophobia. Houston has had something like 160 people murdered by people out on multiple felony bonds over the last few years.

Bond reform was needed for non-violent offenders but of course they've gone way past where it needed to be done.

When there is concern for the crooks and no concern for the victims this is what you get.
