Same thing happened to me about a year ago. I got my money back and filed a police report. The address was some apartments in a shitty baton rouge area. The cops said the apartment number they had it shipped to was vacant, so they were probably just waiting for it to be delivered and then went picked it up. It was an ipad and 2 pair of airpods. Them mf ended up getting the 2 of the packages bc of next day delivery but i got my money back and stopped the shipment of the ipad. Cant believe they get away with this shite tho.

It is probably a neighbor to that rent house. Someone who can hear UPS trucks coming.

I had some ditchpig do this to me in N.O. years ago. They ordered a pair of size 9, extra wide Women's Nikes, and two baby pairs of Nikes. She had them sent to a vacant house. I canceled the card and contacted the police. NOPD was furious that I was bothering them. They could not have been more disinterested.

My money is on the local food truck I had recently as being the culprit.

That makes sense. They spit in your food AND rip you off.

Haha I seriously doubt mine will anywhere near as satisfying.

The only chance would be if I'm not the only victim and they are shipping multiple items to that property...and Savannah metro decides to take some interest in it.

I would find out who owns/worked at the food truck and see if there is a connection or if they live near the house.

filed a police report as well, since I at least had an residential address they were shipping it to. Maybe the savannah metro PD can do some work.

Any chance I find some sweet sweet justice?

Probably not. A friend got his account hacked and the person ordered two iPhones and shipped them to their address. Apple just said they would refund him the money but the phones had already shipped so there was nothing they could do. The police basically said it wasn't worth their time.

We use AMEX charge cards in my house to avoid these kind of issues. I’ve had cards in the past that did very little (BoA and Citi) when theft occurred. Amex and Chase are probably the only companies I’ve seen about protecting the consumer. It could just be for certain products though.

Might be a vacant house so they can steal it off the porch

Not sure about Apple policies but I've found with high tech gear you usually need someone to sign for it.

Seems to be a common thread. Cops hate dealing with property crimes even if you do all the goddamn work for them.

There was a thread on here some time ago about someone tracking a stolen iPhone to a specific address in Monroe thanks to GPS and Monroe PD refusing to do a damn thing about it.

This should tell you how marked up and overpriced Apple products are. Slave labor allows them to make them for pennies to the point they couldn't care less if some are stolen.

Not unless you go vigilante. Once the credit card company gives you back your money, you are no longer the victim; the credit card company is. And they will just file it with whatever law enforcement agency is handling their fraud claims. Nothing will be done.

It's my main credit card. I think I would get tired if they alerted me for every charge. With that said, I should probably place a setting to alert me on charges above $x amount.

You can request alerts for charges made only when the card is not present.

Well I was hopeful that maybe the Savannah PD might reach out to me if they wanted to do some investigative work.

Assuming the person lifted my card/numbers in the last month, the only potential local places it would be from would be:

Food Truck(chazitos), 5 Guys, and a local restaurant(driftaway) that I frequent.

I favor the food truck being the source just given the the closeness to the event, plus the food truck uses one of square/vendor apps that tracks your e-mail and phone to send receipt etc. Whoever ordered the products created a hotmail address that was fairly similar to how my other email addresses are. So either just coincidence, but I would think the 5 guys or the local restaurant wouldn't have had that info.

Good news is my package hold worked. It's sitting at the fedex. I guess I could go try and pick it up today or tomorrow and see what happens.
