Is there an LSU bar in Baltimore
Posted by schlodc on 6/7/25 at 10:13 am
Looking for a place to watch the game today.
re: I’m in Starkville, MS for the next two nights. WTF is there to do around here?

There is a cool prohibition style speakeasy cocktail bar behind Restaurant Tyler downtown called The Guest Room. Harvey's is the classic steak place that is good. L'uva is a nice wine bar with descent food in the Cotton District. Don't expect to find a place with food at the level we are used to in South Louisiana and you won't be disappointed.
help identifying this yellow substance
Posted by schlodc on 4/2/24 at 11:05 am
Does anyone know what this is? It pops up randomly in my yard/garden.It's yellow and looks like vomit, but must be some kind of mold. I also have a black powdery substance on the side of my house. any ideas what it is and how to get rid of it?

I have not. was wondering the same thing.
Didn’t downvote anyone. Vibration must be the issue. Pump is not secure.
Pool pump PVC repair
Posted by schlodc on 6/25/23 at 1:55 pm
Does anyone have. Good recommendation for PVC pool pump repair? I’m tired of doing it myself.
I think the bigger issue is why does TAMU feel the need to call him out on this. Do they feel threatened that he may be applying?
Cordless Lawn tool systems
Posted by schlodc on 5/22/22 at 7:42 am
What's the best cordless lawn tool system to buy. I'm about to buy a string trimmer and I want to make sure I can expand to other tools and use the same batteries. I'll probably expand to the standard stuff like edger, blower, maybe chainsaw. Ryobi? EGo?
VA disability benefits question
Posted by schlodc on 3/8/21 at 7:38 am
Has anyone successfully navigated the VA process for getting disability benefits for an elderly parent? The amount of paperwork is astronomical and seems designed to discourage old people from even attempting to fill out. Does anyone know if there are VA representatives that help people out with the process? I've heard of an independent organization called Patriot Angels that helps people for a fee. Anyone use them with success?

I would find out who owns/worked at the food truck and see if there is a connection or if they live near the house.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy lumber to build a standard pressure treated pine fence? I'll need about 300 feet.

re: What was the first Saints game you attended in person?
Posted by schlodc on 4/4/20 at 5:37 pm to Circle K Beggar
Saints VS. St.Louis Cardinals. Tulane Stadium 1974. I was 8. We had relatives come in from Kentwood, LA to see Jackie Smith (HOF TE for Cardinals). Cardinals were a playoff team and we shut them out 14-0. I remember my dad harassing my relatives after the game "The Big Red is DEAD!" Jackie Smith ended his career as a Cowboy and dropped the pass in the end zone against the Steelers in the Superbowl. The family was upset he dropped the pass, but as a kid I remember I was happy because my hate for the Cowboys went that far back.

Where does all of that debris go?
In Germany they made a big arse debris mountain in Munich (covered in grass now). It's in the middle of Olympic Park. Climbed to the top and looked down into Olympic Stadium to watch Rammstien perform last year. :dude:

Man those announcers were bad....
Agree, they said the refs gave Kamara a generous spot when he clearly made a first down.
Also on the Cook TD where the defender grabbed the ball out of his hands after he was on the ground. He said, "Wait was it intercepted? No signal yet from the official", while ref is standing there with his arms in the air.
re: Do kids still TP houses/soap cars anymore?
Posted by schlodc on 10/23/19 at 2:50 pm to frankthetank
Last weekend I drove my daughter and her friend around the city to roll the houses of the senior volleyball players. Apparently it is a tradition and the seniors leave treats for them on the doorstep. The sad thing is I had to teach them the proper way to roll a house. They didn't even know how to throw the TP so it comes unrolled in the air. As a high school junior she should have known this already. I failed as a dad.
re: Picking sides with newly divorced friends

We had a rash of divorces in our friend group about 10 years ago. In a span of about 3 years, 4 or 5 couples got divorced.
We never felt like we had to choose, 10 years later there's only one of those couples that we still see both former spouses with any regularity, and they had a very amicable split. These things tend to take care of themselves usually.
Agree with this. You don't have to pick sides because the couple will pick sides for you. Apparently couples that go through a divorce do a "friends draft" and pick which friends they want to keep. We had a couple get divorced and we got drafted by the wrong side. It sucked.
