I have a 30 minute drive down a straight divided 4 lane highway. I can nurse a 24 oz Bud Heavy and it probably hasn't even hit my bloodstream by the time I get home. I see no problem with it.

There is nothing wtong with cracking one open on the way home. People have become such prudes willing to accept stupid laws regardless of how worthless they are

It's sort of sad on a forum mostly based in S. Louisiana.

Sort of like the ongoing push to erode the availability of go cups in New Orleans.

It doesn't have anything to do with the law and legality of it; I just like to do it kick off the weekend.

I'm just saying, if your gonna take a risk, take a risk with a worthwhile drug.

feels like a DUI or an open container ticket to me

I did it once. Probably 1998. It did not feel American. I was blackout drunk. Found a tall boy sitting in my dashboard cup holder in the morning. I felt lucky to be alive and lucky to be free. Does glad to not be in jail equal freedom of an American? If so then it felt American.

I didn't even know where I stopped to get tall boys. I was at a bar? One of those "I gotta work on me" moments.

None of this is at all relevant or even tangentially related to cracking open the first beer of the weekend on your ride home from work after a hard-worked week of sober and responsible living.

I have cold beer waiting at home vs a hot beer sitting in my truck all day. Not to mention the illegality. What's the point?

Cracking a beer after work on Friday is one of life's little pleasures though

4 pages in and I have concluded that while most of the OT is still made up of red-blooded, freedom loving patriots, there is a vocal faction of quivering cucked manlets who have long ago willingly surrendered their testicles to the Woman's Temperance League.

Unfortunately, the pussification of America is real.

Brb, going to open a beer.

It absolutely is tangential. The beer is the tangent.

I know what you are trying to say though, but it's a slippery slope. Type of guy who will revel in cracking a beer and driving home would probably have 12.

Just shared my own personal open container story. It was definitely a negative.

frick da hate. I Crack a beer 2-3 times a week on my way home. Traffic sucks and a stressful day at work. Why not? I am a grown arse man if I get a ticket for it, I pay it. My decision frick everyone that has a problem with it.

Well I don't think your story is relevant to cracking a beer. Now if it had said getting shite faced on the way home then yes but thanks for sharing. Glad you survived to tell about it though
