Cox shut off my internet again. Third time since November.

I've been living in the same house for the past 16 years. Same internet provider. Never had an issue until last year. My wife called me at work and said the internet was down. I called Cox and they said it was an "ingress" issue and scheduled a tech for the following Monday. The tech comes out and said nothing was wrong with my line.
It happened again in March. Same issue. Couldn't find anything wrong. This time I was without internet for over a week.
Every single time they do this, it's on a Friday afternoon. I'm usually not home when they come out but today, I headed out early. I saw the bucket truck down the road and thought nothing of it. He stopped in front of my house and started working on the line. I went outside and watched from a distance. I keep checking my phone and sure enough, the internet drops. He hops in his truck and ignores me flagging him down and drives away. I put a call in immediately to Cox and the phone support lady said in her notes, the tech knocked on my door and no one was home. fricking useless. He was supposed to leave a door tag but of course, I didn't get one because he never walked in my yard.
Thankfully, she set me up for tomorrow morning. Only provider in my area so I'm pretty much screwed on options.

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine. They kept shutting his off and saying “ingress“ issue. Last year he went to jail for child porn.

There aren't any priests that live here but the Catholic Church is just down the road.....

Our cox internet has been fricking up for a while now. Seems like they’ve been having tons of issues a lot lately. Ours hasn’t completely shut off but it goes in and out constantly, moreso in the evenings as best as I can tell.

Lost it last year for about a week. No communication from them whatsoever. When I contacted customer service they told me it was due to higher than normal demand.... Literally nothing unusual was going on in town during this time.
I dropped them and switched to AT&T fiber and haven't looked back. It's been a world of difference.

Cox is the worst Internet provider right behind at&t. Don't miss either of them at all. Spectrum is 1000x better

I worked for an ISP for a little bit and what's happening is users in your area(neighbors more than likely) are complaining about spotty Internet and after too many complaints, they come out and do maintenance.

We had a problem a few months ago & it was a wasp nest. The tech actually carried wasp spray…

Cox is pretty much my only "legit" provider. They picked the correct name.

This
Some AT&T tech/salesman knocked on my door two years ago. Explained to me the work being done in the neighborhood was to install fiber optic internet lines with ATT in the neighborhood and if I would like to switch.
The only time I was enthusiastic to see a salesman at my door.
Signed literally on the spot. I was going to sign before he even told me the price point.
Save $30 a month on internet (TV came in over the internet) and speeds and reliability were leaps and bounds above Cox. Shipped cox my hardware the next day.
Done and done.

AT&T here also. Faster and cheaper, they’ve been great

I have Cox and been thinking about switching to AT&T. Good to hear

Probably, either you or someone on your network is doing something illegal and Cox is shutting down your internet because of it.
You will probably be hearing from FBI or local police soon.
Or
You could be hacked and someone is using a computer on your network to do the same and Cox sees the traffic and shutting you down.
