No. Off Hoo Shoo Too near Jefferson.
I heard Eatel never went down and their comparable package to my cox preferrred 150 is even cheaper.
I'll be switching to Eatel after this blows over for sure. They just ran fiber in our neighborhood.
Tethering to ATT cell phones for now.
Cox cable and internet just came back up Hoo Shoo Too near Jefferson.

I called today at noon to see what was the hold up.
They said they did not have a timeline on when they would make it out and had to wait until power in our area was restored.
I said we had power since Monday.
Cox later came out around 5 and fixed it by 6.
I'm not mad about losing service during a storm. I'm mad about the lack of communication from Cox. Even at&t reached out.

it came back in capital heights Tuesday night

Mine came back on at the same time as Demco about an hour ago. I guess a big pine fell, lodged in the ground, and severed both lines 3 feet under...
I'm super happy, but I'd seriously like to know how this situation worked out. Phone service got back to normal at the same time also

They are busy working up a new ad campaign about how goofy and stupid whitey is around his sophisticated and cool African American neighbors.

Cox can't do much until Entergy makes progress
People have no idea what they are talking about. Cox and other cable companies are just as susceptible to power outages as anyone else. Just cause you have power at home doesn't mean your internet should be working.
There are literally hundreds of routers, amps, nodes, etc that are required for internet to work, scattered all around Baton Rouge if the right ones lose power, it could affect service miles away. It's as if these frickers think internet service is as simple as two cups and a string, when in fact its a thousand times more complex that their little peabrains can handle

The question, Mr.Expert, was why did it work almost a full day after power loss, then go out. If it went out during the storm, then great. But why well after all damage and everything had stabilized? We know it ain’t two strings and a cup.

Imagine this if you can: Somewhere in Baton Rouge there's a node that feeds service to your house. That node has lost power, the backup generator has kicked in. The generator runs out of gas or experiences mechanical failure, the backup battery takes over. Battery dies, node loses power. You lose service. Now imagine that there are hundreds of nodes in Baton Rouge metro area alone. Also imagine that the main facility that feeds all of Baton Rouge is also running on a PAIR of gigantic desiel generators, they begin to run low on fuel also, the technicians on the ground are scrambling like mad to find desiel and deliver it to the generators that need it most...like Hospitals, treatment centers, nursing homes, etc. Then, if possible, they start going to less vital areas and filing those generators. All throughout a city in panic mode with crazy traffic, widespread power loss, flooding and damaged infrastructure. Can you picture it? If you can then you'll understand how your service could fail a day after power loss. Then you might understand that restoring your service at home is low in the totem pole. Or would you prefer they ignore the hospitals and vital areas so you can watch pornhub?
Still think there's "no logical explanation" as to why it went out a day later?
It irritates me when people spout ignorant shite like it's fact. Do better.

I don’t and I lost it after the storm, but someone told me at the bar last night that a line got destroyed from a late falling tree on Lee Drive. So make of that what you will. Could be true, or not.

I’ve got it in Central, came back yesterday.
Posted on 9/2/21 at 10:10 am to USMCTIGER1970
I lost it 6 pm Sunday night- not back yet. SUPPOSEDLY there is a technician coming today. We’ll see

Logistically they’ve done a poor job with resources and their acquisition before and after the storm
But the real issue is communication to customers and a lack of explaining the challenges associated with fixing the issues

This is utter bullshite. Grow up. You have no clue what's actually going on

Here's your communication: "A hurricane has fricked up power across the city, literally all our infrastructure requires POWER to function. Please be patient as we try to restore service in spite of NO POWER. Again, with no POWER, there is no SERVICE. Blame Entergy if you must but our hands are kinda tied here."
Totally unnecessary communication if you use your brain to imagine why you have no service.

I'm so over hearing this.
I imagine the challenges you mention are newly discovered issues that appear every few minutes as techs work in the field and discover new damage. People want so badly something to cling to for comfort, when it very likely would be totally made up and pulled out of someone's arse anyway.
Who CARES what their challenges are? Clearly the challenges are there, or you'd have internet right now. Why do they have to email you telling you what you already know, which is that there are challenges and they're working to restore? Does knowing what the challenges are change anything? Are you going to have the solution and let them know what needs to be done once you know said challenges? Of course not.
There's nothing you can do to change it, so let them work and deal with it. You stayed in town through a major hurricane knowing the risks of that. As did I. And ya know what? I'm not bitching about internet being out and I'm certainly not bitching because Cox's crooked arse isn't emailing me with bullshite fluff.
Also, a bunch of people who don't work in X industry should really refrain from acting like an authority on what a company in that industry should do.

Thank you! Someone with a brain finally chimes in.
Its as if these entitled morons think all this stuff runs on unicorn farts and rainbows.

Best utility decision you'll ever make.

Well I’ve done my time in logistics and with impending storms they should have fuel contracts in place… you claimed they don’t have enough fuel.. that’s on them and they should also have relationships that allow for generator swaps along with hardware supplies.. they were caught off guard. That’s fine but dont simply say. Uhhh …hurricane
Communication is much more than “there was a hurricane, deal with it.. provide daily scheduled updates released on multiple platforms, throughout the day.. this is literally executives whole job during times like this

no and my dad across the street has it. There are no obvious tree or line issues here.

Are you using the Entergy app? That's often inaccurate.
