Does anyone in the metro area have their service back? 5 days and its impossible to get an estimate on restoration time. Haven't seen one Cox truck driving around either. I'm close to throwing my router in the garage and moving on.

Just out of curiosity, does AT&T have service in the area, and if so, how is it doing?

Regardless, frick AT&T.

AT&T is not available everywhere in the city. Need to go to their website, and you can type in your address to find out.

Cox in Metairie is still down. Here's what they have to say:

Cox: Our technicians continue to work to resolve the problem in your neighborhood. Currently, there is no estimated time for when service will be restored

Thank your lucky stars you aren't with Suddenlink. Ask anyone in SWLA how that went or still going in some cases.

Our internet was out for a month post Laura. I have suddenlink and when all the electrical poles were knocked down, the electric companies just cut the cable lines. Suddenlink had to re-run their entire infrastructure.

My service is still out as well. It’s killing me with the wife working from home.

I have it. My family has several properties in the metro area. First one that came back was out for about 24 hours. Last one just came back this morning(Monday).

Still down in SWLA with Suddenlink. They continue to tell me that I have service and the entire street disagrees. Day sixty-something with no internet.

When the tornado hit Ruston a couple of years ago, our cable was out for over a week. Thank God for cell phones. I watched videos showing how bad the damage 12-15 blocks away was. By the time we got cable back they were doing clean up stories.

When Laura came through up here it was still a category 1 hurricane. We never lost electricity, but 90% of Ruston residents did. I couldn't use my Verizon phone for part of that week, and heard others had the same problem.

To this day, our water pressure hasn't been as strong as it was before Laura. The week after she went through they gave an explanation for it, but I haven't heard anything since then.

Mine is back but it still goes out randomly for varying amounts of time every single day.

Right behind you. It's insane that a COMMUNICATIONS company can't COMMUNICATE with their restoration teams and provide an update. And all their text messages say is "no estimated time for when service will be restored." Cox' customer service is notoriously bad, and somehow after this - it's gotten worse. And you can't call - once the automated system realizes your service address, it hangs up on you. So they won't even talk to you about it!!!
