Coworker asked us question about time travel

So, I thought it was pretty ridiculous but figured to see if the OT thought it was ridiculous as well. My coworker was asking us about travelling and different time zones. He figures if he keeps travelling west really fast he could stay young forever. He wants to know at what point do you gain a day travelling westward around the world.

Tell him to ask again yesterday.

At the date line... 180W

Tell him if he takes a picture of Mars and keeps blowing it up, he can see Martians. .

I time travel every time I drink Jaegermeister.

The real answer is, no matter which way he is traveling as long as he is traveling faster than the speed of the humans on the surface of the Earth, he will age slower, relatively, than those people on Earth.
I can see what he was trying to accomplish, but if he wants to really stay younger, this way is the only way.

You need to get coworker up to HR for a drug test

I think he'd b better off just leaving his job and looking for the fountain of youth. Getting an extra day by flying around the world just makes up for the shitty day spent in an airplane trying to get the extra day in the first place

To stay younger looking, tell him to eat more pussy.

He was trolling you, of course.

He'd actually lose a day by traveling west over the date line.

Step away from the water cooler.

A better way to ask the question:
Does time slow as you approach the speed of light?
Some good reading material out there

Time dilation explains why two working clocks will report different times after different accelerations. For example, ISS astronauts return from missions having aged slightly less than they would have been if they had remained on Earth, and GPS satellites work because they adjust for similar bending of spacetime to coordinate with systems on Earth.[1]

The sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older.

I thought that this sounded familiar but just thought it was something I read tomorrow.

Suggest to the new wannabe Ponce de Leon that he go to the South Pole and extend his left arm out and put his left gloved hand on the pole and walk around it (counter-clockwise if viewed from immediately above him there) in thirty seconds.
Is he a day (-30 seconds) younger?
He could do the inverse at the North Pole, a sub might poke through there though.
