Looking for another pair of boots. I own a couple pair of Tecovas and Ariats but want to try another brand. Any recommendations?

I have two pairs of Justin’s. They last for years and are not too expensive.

The way I despise the rednecks around here, I would be a hypocrite to wear cowboy boots. Plus, I’ve never liked the way they look.

Would you argue that rednecks don’t make up the vast majority of cowboy boots wearers?

I wear Twisted X. They’re not super expensive and are comfortable and last 2.5x longer than my Justin’s or Ariat.

They wear both. Depends on the situation.

I don’t care if you want to wear cowboy boots, they just aren’t for me.

It's true and I'd only buy vintage or lucchese classics. You'd be better off buying a used lucchese online and having a master cobbler relast them with a quality oak tanned sole.
I have over a dozen pairs of lucchese but wouldn't buy any new ones and expect the same construction quality as they made decades ago.

In his price range he ought to look at Justin, Chisos or El dorado. I'd also recommend Capitan boots. I don't have any of that brand in my personal collection, but I have bought my grandson a couple of pairs and was impressed with what I saw.

Wait until Black Friday rolls around, and you might be able to get more for your money. I love my Luccheses- I’ve got a pair of ostrich and Gator, and I’m glad I got them 10+ years ago, because I couldn’t afford them now.

ETA: if you know your size, you can check websites like Poshmark, too. I bought my son a pair of floor model Birkenstocks for half price. There are lots of items that have hardly been worn, if at all.

Find a pair of second hand Luchesses or something similar.

Like $75 then.
