If you lived in Atlanta, Baton Rouge, or some other "urban" locale, you might be able to get away with it. I haven't been to OK often, but 9/10 I would expect to be looked down upon, like most of Texas that doesn't serve craft cocktails with a "mixologist." I don't get the myriad ways guys posture to make up for either low or braggadocious levels of self confidence, but I'm also too old to GAF with more than 1 out of my 100 braincells.
I did have a partner fly down from New Jersey to Nashville for a few days and wear nothing but seersucker with one of those hats. I remember thinking, "damn dude, you probably bought 2 suits especially for this client, but you aren't fooling anyone in a tire manufacturer where nobody wears more than a polo." Still brings a chuckle remembering the first time I saw him.
I did like to wear my combat boots under jeans in college (you never know when you're going to have to walk 10 miles home,) but I had a claim to those.

There’s no way you don’t sit to take a piss then

But you have to make sure to tell me how little you give a frick what I think? lol
My post was basically, "I didn't earn it, ain't gonna wear it." You must be highly insecure if you think I give two shits how you want to portray yourself with all your accoutrement and social enhancers to try to make yourself play a role for which you're likely not qualified.
If cowboy boots make your back feel better, great. I DGAF. Social status preening on dudes is most decidedly beta behavior. Trying to portray toughness or confidence without having actually done much to create either is disappointing but not something I waste time getting worked up about.
Go to bed, grasshopper.

Imagine a man wearing cowboy boots with dress clothes and saying, "I wore these boots in lieu of dress shoes." Does not compute, unless he's a gay college professor type.

You live in Fort Worth, baw? I only see this when everyone is dressed for the costume contest when they let the steer roam the streets.

Do you baw.
I wear brown upland bird hunting boots to work every day.

By that logic... Do you wear a baseballhat? Better not if you're not a baseball player. Do you wear any sports insignia? Better not since you don't play for them? Do you wear any college insignia? Better not unless you attended class there.
The baseball hat has an intended purpose, the other two things are worn as a sign of fandom. Are you about to ride a horse, or are you just a fan of horses?

Any of you baws do this?
yes, next question.

I have never owned a pair of dress shoes, only boots and tennis shoes.

Baseball hats are designed to shield the sun from your face.
The next 2 are designed to display fandom.
So either cowboy boots are designed to ride/do ranch type work OR display being a fan of cowboy culture (kind beta if you ask me).
Which is it?

If I’m wearing a suit, I typically wear dress shoes. If it’s a slacks/jeans and polo/button down type of event, I’ll wear my boots. If I’m out working in the field, 10/10 times I’m wearing jeans and boots
