Since the Supreme Court ruled that the police have no legal obligation to protect the public, they can choose to act or not act and no one can do anything about it. That's why I find it comical that the gun grabbers want us to rely on the police for personal protection.

It would certainly seem that way. Sad, could have probably saved lives and injuries on at least the 3rd floor.

To allow the shooter to leave the building and walk away sounds like it should be impossible.

"Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing."

- John Stuart Mill, 1867

Here, while the "good men" part is questionable for many of those on the scene, the doing nothing part was clear.

Yea, I'll keep my personal carry gun thank you.

It's a shame, many cops in this country are ex mil with time in the shite and would have probably screwed ol boys plans up as fast as their feet could get them there. Same for any of the parents of the kids who were in there. Too bad none of those types where there with a gun, the kind who'll say frick the proceedure, I'm going help. The bad guys plans change as soon as someone shoots back.

Someone at the school should have called the code. It’s crazy that they train and practice for situations like this and then in the moment of an actual shooting, can’t even get step one correct.

You're not going to find those types of guys living in Broward County.

Well since all of these cowards and their leaders were Hillary supporters as well as pals with DWS, they all get a pass.

Sorry to bring politics into it but that's the truth.

Scot Peterson hearing

He should have never gone into that profession with that attitude. That is what irks me.

Yep. And I always see these fools on any reality TV show that has to do with police. Broward County is always on them. Seems they love the limelight when they get to manhandle scumbags with a little weed or a suspended license. Not so much when shite really goes down.

Broward Sheriff Scott Israel later reveals that he personally changed department policy to say that deputies “may” instead of “shall” rush in...

Miller is among eight armed deputies now at the school. All hear gunshots, but none rush to Building 12 to look for the killer...

A few seconds later, Peterson, still hiding southeast of Building 12, tells deputies over the radio to stay at least 500 feet away from the building.

The warning is one of at least two times a Broward deputy urges another officer to protect themselves, not confront the killer....

You know, I tend to be against public hangings, but I think we need to make an example of these 9 cowards to make it clear to cops everywhere what will happen to them if they don’t charge after a school shooter. If this happened in the 1800s, then everyone would have a good old fashioned tailgate in front of the gallows and lynch these 9 pussies in the middle of the square. Really just have these 9 guys on the news constantly shaming them and what kind of pieces of shite they are for months, let them see it in prison, and then hang them.

How Scott Israel remains so pompous blaming everyone but himself is astounding. I would kill myself if I were him and think he should. He is a spineless weasel that this world would be better without. He is a real life cowardly Janos Slynt.

True. Their main job today is revenue generation. This timeline shows that these guys had no earthly desire to confront this situation.

I'm glad the Sun Sentinel hit the BCSO hard like this. Scott Israel is a POS and all of those pussy arse deputies deserve to be called out.

That's a pretty damming timeline of events. Kids died because of cowards and lack of basic training of school and le personnel.

Almost assuredly only trained with the head administrator calling the code. Maybe drills need to be modified to have unsuspecting employees call codes to initiate drills.

Our school has phones all over (office and classrooms) and each has a sticker on it with the buttons to push to call a school wide code.

Sandy hook should have taught everyone that it shouldn’t be just admin who can call codes (they were all killed first).
