I'm not going to blame them for the upbringing of the kid, because nobody here can possibly speculate on that. They could've been the best parents in the world and yet teenagers will still do idiotic stuff. There's so many foreign influences on kids' lives these days, there's no way for parents to control everything they see or do. Scares the crap out of me for what the world will look like in another 10 years when my kids get to be that age.

Burning down an entire fricking store isn't just boys being boys. Society has gotten entirely too soft on crime, and that needs to change.
My gut feeling on this is that it was some retarded social media challenge, in which case I'd be fine adding an extra five years.

The Northshore is completely crime-free, with the exception of pedophile cops, weird gimp rapists who are related to the DA, marauding bands of arson-happy students from Mandeville High, whoever left Ruth Manguno's skull in a mailbox, whoever burned Nanette Krentel alive, that priest from Pearl River who turned out to be a satanist, his predecessor who turned out to be a pedophile, and a few crack entrepreneurs who live in shacks near Scotty's Muffler. Yessiree, it's a reeeeal paradise up there. Can't live like that in Metairie!

This is why I smirk when I see people post about how horrible the parents must be every, single time a kid does something wrong. I doubt that most people posting that kind of stuff even have kids.
