Great take. The nonsense just killed my ex-girlfriend’s mother.

Sorry to hear that. Yes, unless directly impacted or being an essential worker, a lot of people only experience being cooped up in their houses.

So the stay at home orders didn't help.

As things stand it looks like our government leaders have destroyed the economy over a “pandemic” with a 0.2%-0.5% mortality rate. The virus has exposed these same leaders as tyrants who would take away our constitutional rights in the name of public safety. Sadly, many people have capitulated like lambs to the slaughter. The genie will be hard to put back in the bottle.

As things stand, that’s a baseless claim unless you also live in a parallel universe where there was no stay at home order and you can confirm the case numbers and mortality rates were the same.

Doubtful. Now tell everyone what her heath issues were because Covid-19 alone will not kill you.

I've watched fellow louisiananians flocking to whatever open retail outlet exists.

Ive talked to no less than 10 people I went to high school with. We randomly ran into each other in grocery stores, people I haven't seen in 20 years.

Louisiana isn't locked down, it's a hurricane party going on for too long.

Why do you people act like it is just the US govt doing this? The shut down is worldwide not just the US.

The cult of the expert. It's a truly disgusting phenomenon, the seeds of which were largely planted in the reaction to 9/11/01. The 99.9% are encouraged to drop everything and put their faith in the credentialed, vetted, certified few, whether inside the Pentagon or inside the one corner of a hospital (FFS) we're still allowed to use.

You know it works both ways right? Half of the country has been out and about, a small percentage thought it was overblown and didn't take it seriously until half way in.

And a shite load of deaths are from people in quarantine.

So you will never know if this worked.

I am sorry that people have lost loved ones. My uncle passed away during this, but not from Covid.

She was in a car wreck but because she tested positive for Covid-19 two days prior that's her cause of death

Studies in NYC, the Bay Area and Los Angeles show that 20-30% of the population have Covid antibodies. Extrapolate this data and you arrive at very low mortality rates. The stay at home order actually does nothing to alleviate the virus. Look to Sweden. They know locking everyone up was not sustainable for months on end. They should reach herd immunity this month and will not have destroyed their economy.
