Same. I’m not taking my child with zero symptoms to be tested for Covid.
We just had to do that twice to satisfy their return to school requirements after my kiddo was found to be a close contact on DAY TWO!

So this is what the new university president is busy with? Playing with the sorority girls’ sewage?
They hate the Greek system and have been searching for ways to shut it down over the last 15 years. This is just another attempt to frick them over.

Serious question because I honestly don’t know.
Is there a reason they are testing wastewater for Covid? Is that something commonly done?

Using COVID as justification for ridiculous shite again. Surely everyone has gotten Covid by now, whether they realize it or not.

It's almost like hiring William F. Tate IV was a mistake or something.

If one needs hospital care, is it not bygone conclusion that they have covid?
Why waste a test?

Members of all LSU sororities and some fraternities must get tested for COVID-19 after the school found traces of the virus in the wastewater system serving their area of the campus.

Most Greek members don't live in the house so I don't know what kind of conclusion you can even draw from this

Are we even considering the positives that the testing methods are flawed?

LSU mandated testing but not prepared at all. Had to be tested at LSU site. Told them to go to one location some waited 4 hours. Others ran out of gas while in line. Then shut it down at 4:00. Kind of strange they are targeting sororities isn’t it the fraternities they are trying to get rid of.

It has some predictive value. Elevated levels of the virus in wastewater precedes covid spikes. The studies I've seen have been on citywide populations. I really doubt its usefulness on this small a scale. These kids are using restroom facilities elsewhere all the time and nonresidents are coming in and using their facilities. Move in day was last week. Maybe parents are the source for all we know.

I can remember early on with COVID there was a massive apartment complex during the early lockdowns in the Far East where the sewerage system was not vented property and one infected person was able to spread the virus to many more people just through the poorly vented sewerage.
