If your daughter was shot in a “mistaken identity” case would you be so nonchalant?

If someone broke down MY door in the middle of the night I might shoot. I might not, but if I did I would fully feel like I would be protected by law. If someone broke down my door and I had not committed any crime that would constitute someone breaking down my door the same applies as above. Like I have said before..wake me up mid sleep who the frick knows what I’m going to do.

Was there premeditation ? Absolutely not? I believe that.

Are the people who killed her culpable? Absolutely. If you disagree and don’t have kids then imagine that was your mother or sister or grandmother. I’m white btw and pro police.

This hypothetical is always so lame

That being said a lot of people need to be punished severely for what went down.

Can someone tell me 1) how did they have the wrong address and 2) how did they not know the person they were looking for was in jail?

I truly don’t get these things.

Well if my daughter, son, mother, sister etc was shot I can tell you I’m not going to say “well honest mistake...whoopsie don’t do it next time.”

Come in my house without probable cause the it’s on you. If it’s a mistake.....it’s still on YOU. Someone is culpable.

They didn’t have the wrong address. They targeted her because they said a US Postal Inspector confirmed she was receiving suspicious packages at her home in Glover’s name.

USPS then came out to say nothing was ever confirmed with them nor did they report suspicious packages at her address.

So they lied on the warrant. Which is worse IMO.

Wow.

Is there any proof that it was the police who lied about the warrant? Like how does either side “prove” they didn’t lie? Are polygraphs done? I seriously have no clue how this works and only vaguely remember hearing about this.

Have the cops still been working or on paid leave?

Prayers for Louisville if they aren’t held accountable.

The local Postal Inspector that they claimed they verified the information with called them on it. Said they had no contact with them over packages at Taylor’s address and that they (USPS) did not have any info that suspicious packages had been sent.

But we don’t know anything beyond that because literally other than the dodgy incident report, no real “details” have been released to the public. My guess they hoped it would “disappear” and it almost did until George Floyd happened.

Paid leave. They can’t be fired during an active investigation due to the still active previous contract.

Honestly, I put this on the Mayor, LMPD, and the Attorney General if it gets worse here. They could put a lot of this shite to rest with some transparency. Instead they’re staying mum and are content with watching it burn.

Hypothetical....you wake and there's some SOB's lurking just outside. You grab your AK and your significant other calls 911.

911 isn't going to tell you you are being raided. In they come knocking down your door and you light up 2 or 3 of them..body armor from that range isn't going to stop 7.62x39 and they back out.

Turns out you shot some cops not knowing who was breaking in on you. What's going to happen then?

Because they don't care.

So an innocent person gets killed. Important thing is they got to have their GI Joe LARP.

Yeah of course you would. That’s why it’s dumb. It removes all logic and injects straight emotion.

If the officers did not shoot first, not sure how you can possibly charge them. This is just a fricked situation with no knock warrants. How do you put a cop in jail for the rest of his life for firing when fired upon?

Of course I would what? That makes no sense..”logically.”

Yes death tends to inject emotion, especially deliberate death that is not caused by old age or natural causes such as cancer. Do you even know what you are arguing or just saying random statements?

Logically someone wouldn’t be dead from sleeping in their own bed...since you are speaking logically. Once unnatural death is involved emotion is injected.

What happened to Breonna Taylor actually was an injustice.

It wasn’t a racial injustice. It was a procedural one.

Lemme bust up in your house late tonight and if , by chance, you get off a shot first, I’m free to blast you away?

The only recourse the cops MAY have is that they were just following instructions of their captains, etc

If they want to riot over something Breonna Taylor is a far better incident than the Brooks case and even George Floyd.

She literally did nothing wrong (neither did the boyfriend).

Executing the warrant - legal
Fired after being fired upon - legal
She happened to get shot in the commotion - probably somewhat justified due to the situation.

Eliminate no Knocks - or make the standard near impossible to achieve.

Battle her death in civil court.
