He shot at them. Not sure what else to tell you. If they shot at him before he armed himself, you'd have more of a point to me.

they were illegally in his house

Could he not have been groggy from waking up and not heard them when they identified themselves? Most people don't wake up instantly alert.
From one of the links I posted, they reported they didn’t initially identify themselves (hence the premise of a no-knock). Then claimed they did when they went to bust down the door.
Personally, they’ve lied in other major cases against the department and left the incident report blank. So I’d need to see some proof they did to believe them.

we have no evidence of him lying about that night.
I'm not claiming he's lying.

Thats awful but i dont know if the police who executed the warrant should be the ones held responsible. Maybe they were just doing their job and got shot at so responded with gunfire...these are people who want to home to their families for gods sake.
If someone illegally obtained the warrant, that person should be the one who gets the L.

We don't know that's not what happened.
Remember: the police already got caught lying and weren't wearing their body cams.

If they had a warrant and were at the address on the warrant, not so sure you're correct there.

Then why did they try to cover it up in the incident report?

I'll refer you to the second part of my post that said this department seems shady. Still doesn't mean he couldn't have missed the identification.

if they lied to get the warrant, which is pretty clear they did, then they were illegally in his house

Yeah but if they had to make shite up and lie to get the warrant, is it really legal?
Posted on 6/18/20 at 4:29 pm to BluegrassBelle
I heard on the news that she asked several times who was at the door.

Were the officers in the house the same ones that supposedly lied?

Yeah someone breaks down my door in the middle of the night be prepared to get shot. Hell even if you announce yourself. If you wake me up in mid sleep screaming something you’re at least getting the hammer pulled back if not actually shot. Jesus Christ ppl.
Now if I had just done something wrong and expected it that’s one thing. If I haven’t done anything and get my door bashed in then shite is getting real and fast.
LNCHBOX from reading your post the more I get the feeling you are a gigantic pussy.

not relevant to that point
and i'm pretty sure it would be the same cops, especially since they were plain clothes

It absolutely is to me. Put the liars in jail. If these guys weren't the liars, what did they do wrong assuming they did ID themselves?

I believe so.
You know what would clear this all up? A fricking transparent investigation.
