Isn't it also illegal to catch rainwater on your own property in Cali

It is in some counties according to some gardening friends of mine.
Its either a federal law or a law in a lot of states

. I am in Tangipahoa and I have 5 giant oaks on my property. A neighbor who works in some compactly for the forestry told me not too long after he moved by me that I better not cut the trees down. I laughed at him, I have no intentions to ever do that, it devalues the land. But if I wanted to I would do it and not think twice.

600k for moving a tree

Anyone thinking that's reasonable is an idiot.

Anyone that reads the article and this thread and thinks that is all that happened is an idiot.

It is always the smuggest posters that are incapable of dealing with a simple fact pattern, you are certainly entitled to an opinion the fine was excessive but changing the fact pattern to meet your agenda is lame and weak minded.

From the article.

I'll agree with the judge on this one. A 180 yr old tree can't be replaced. Well at least not for 180 more years.

Hammer these smarmy fricks.

It’s a phuckin tree. Trees have life expectancies too and that one’s days were numbered.

Wow a tree is worth more than the average citizens life.

Sez who?

There are no human lives at risk in the story. There is nothing about buying selling or estimated value.

Probably a couple of arrogant Baby Boomers who feel like the rules don't apply to them.
