Well, this song was #1 on itunes today. And I guarantee it is going to get covered in a lot of bars this weekend. I bet folks remember it. Especially the people who’s heads have exploded over it.

I'm old enough to remember the gov't commodity trucks peddling gov't cheese and butter.

Rather than EBT cards so you can buy chips, pop, steaks and crab legs with them; they need to get dried beans, hamburger, potatoes and fresh veggies.

If they don't like that they can get a job.

"new"...

The overarching "message" of this song has been a staple in popular music for probably 60+ years now.

That video you linked is a very enjoyable song. Pop music and the mega music industry sucks, but with the proliferation of Spotify and Pandora and the like I’ve been able to find a lot of musicians I really enjoy, particularly singer songwriters.

As for the content of the song, yep.

The change would be immediate, severe, hilarious, and satisfying.

Just listened to the song. I like the song and the message. Guy is good. And represents much of what made this country great. People willing to work hard and sacrifice, and wanting to be left alone by govt. Essentially this administrations kryptonite.

He sounds an AWFUL lot like Childers, and I like both. Isbell is a generational songwriting talent, too. Just appreciate talent, it doesn't hurt.

Liberals listening to leftist musicians: “You shouldn’t consider an artists politics. Or be upset by their songs and lyrics. Even if you don’t agree with it. Music is art. Appreciate it for what it is.”

Liberals when they hear a song they don’t agree with:

It is interesting to see so many people come to the aid of slimy Washington politicians.

Even better this morning. The Pedo island line is great.

Can’t wait for the complaints over saying Rich men instead of rich people. Why’s he gotta assume only the men are rich?
