So they've changed all the network printers default settings to black and white and double sided. You can still change it, but that's the default.
Well what ends up happening is people print, walk to the printer and realize they didn't change it, so they go back and re-print.
So the result is....more paper is wasted.

It would save a lot more to just get rid of the old farts who feel the need to print everything

I can't think of many industries that don't need some sort of actual paper trail for a few things

There’s some truth to this though. I think I have printed 2 things the past 2 months since I started working at a new job. A guy in the same position who is in his 50s prints atleast 3 things a day.

Sorry that you can't remember to put in the setting you want.. I guess the only way you young punks will remember is if it's in your phone.

I think the “I just like having a hard copy” argument is kind of BS.

If you create more costs for the company when they’re completely unnecessary because you refuse to get with the times, then you should have to pay for those costs.

Refusing to shell out for 2-3 more cashiers at a cost of $10 an hour or less and losing multiple customers who spend $100-$200 a week in the store.

God that’s my companies main goal now, “the importance of diversity” and “let India do it” I need a new MAGA employer.

Had a supervisor in her 60's once who did that and wrote notes on it. I finally told her one day...this is why they make the reply function. Blew her mind!

We don’t need to print because we can view it from our phone. Now if you could stop asking me how to add an attachment to an email we could really save time and money.

We had a major issue with prints not being claimed and containing sensitive information. We set up release stations at the printer that force the user to enter a code prior to the job being printed. We were surprised by the thousands of dollars this saved in printing costs because people started to avoid printing unneccessary things because they were too lazy to enter their codes...

They do this shite in my office too. It wastes more paper than it saves no doubt. At least everything is in color by default
