Don't miss this y'all! It is going to be spectacular. Sunday May 15 at 8:31 PM. I will be posting telescope video if the weather is clear. The eclipse will be pretty long, lasting about 84 minutes. Hope some good pics will be posted here.
Blood moon lunar eclipse this weekend
Blood moon lunar eclipse this weekend
quote:
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth gets precisely between the Sun and a full Moon, preventing direct sunlight from shining on to the lunar surface. The only light that gets through to the Moon is first filtered by Earth’s atmosphere.
quote:
It will be slightly larger than the average Moon. That’s because it’s technically a “supermoon,” one of the closest four full Mons of the year. However, the 7% increase in the Moon’s apparent size won’t be noticeable. From the surface of the Moon, the Earth will totally eclipse the Sun. Anyone on the Moon would see a red ring around the Earth’s atmosphere, everything around them would look red and it would get very cold.
quote:
Eclipse Dates for 2022
April 30, 2022: Partial Eclipse of the Sun. This eclipse is not visible from North America. (The partial solar eclipse is visible from the southeastern Pacific Ocean, the Antarctic Peninsula, and southern South America.)

October 25, 2022: Partial Eclipse of the Sun. This eclipse is not visible from North America. (The partial solar eclipse is visible from Greenland, Iceland, Europe, northeastern Africa, the Middle East, western Asia, India, and western China.)

The Moon will enter the penumbra at 3:01 A.M. EST on November 8 (12:01 A.M. PST) and leave it at 8:58 A.M. EST (5:58 A.M. PST).

I'm surprised there is nothing on the news about it.
We are all distracted by the awful things going on, it will be so nice to gaze at a wondrous natural phenomenon for an hour and a half.

Cool! Is anyone predicting the end times? I'm cool with New York City exploding.

A white man shot up a black grocery store. There will not be any other news than that for about 2&1/2 weeks.
