Which one would you most want to hand down to your son? Buy that one.

Buy a Tudor and pocket the difference

Of the two shown you HAVE to do the Speedy. But I second the Tudor Black Bay 58

The OP is probably one of the most versatile watches you can own. That said that choice of dial really isn't. Just on that alone I would pick the Speedy Pro. Now the Rolex has a caliber 3230 in it which is a more advanced and "better" movement which will be more accurate and have longer service intervals than the 1861 in the Omega. Now is the 3861 movement is available now (I don't think it is) it might be a closer fight on movement but I would still likely lean to the 3230.

In the end, buy what moves you but if it is your only nice watch I would consider a different dial for an OP, that dial that along with the orange, yellow, and green dials are more of a deep rotation watch.

Just say "No" to Rolex. I have one that was an anniversary gift. I think it may be the worst watch ever made. Keeps shitte time and requires $500 every 3 years for reconditioning and cleaning.

That is such bullshite. This has to be coming from someone that doesn't know a pallet fork from a dinner fork.

Rolex makes mechanical movements that among the 3 highest warranted accuracy of all companies and the longest recommended service interval of any mechanical movements.

Why don't you list the Rolex and vintage you own(ed) and list the mechanical watches you have owned with better movements.

The Omega or Rolex question posted here does not contain “Grand Seiko” anywhere.

You’re silly for limiting yourself to one brand of premium watch.

Actually you’re limited.

Yeah. Limited.

FYI that is a fake and Rolex has never made a Cellini like that. The Cellini is a very nice often overlooked dress watch, I have a 50519 date but they are in a very different price point than the Oyster Perpetual even though in men's watches you can probably get more off retail than any of their other watches.

This is what a real Everose gold date Cellini looks like, they currently don't make a yellow gold version just Everose and white. Note this one still has the static plastic protectors still attached.

I know this was a joke but...

Welcome to 1998. They crashed hard about 15 years ago and the factory was practically giving them away to dealers. Though he MAY be on the verge of a comeback. You have to be a pretty big narcissist to engrave Master of Complications on every watch, even ones with no or very limited complications and based on a base ETA movement. He can make great complicated movements when he tries, he just doesn't try very often and I can't think of a worse value in watches than buying a new FM watch you might as well put the 3/4 of the price in a pile and burn it.

Standard interval is 5 years. Why would you service every three years?

Omega is a working man's Rolex imo, Rolex is more for show than wearing especially with the mark-up on them
