As long as I had some greenery, sure.

Hell, I am sure you could have a couple harvests off of a hydro setup in that amount of time too.

Yes

Now that video games, marijuana, mushrooms and streaming services have come to where they’re at

Swap out the wife and kids for my two labs, and hell yeah, where do I sign. I love the idea of a people free sabbatical.

As long as I had ghosts to talk to… yes

I’d keep 217 locked, though

Knowing the stories? frick no.

Without knowing them / it not being supernatural? Not high on my list.

I’m not organized enough to go months without leaving someplace. It would look like the start of the Simpsons parody of it where I keep spending whole days going back home for something.

Can I bring my model stash?

If so, I’m golden.

Hell, yes. Keep a fire in the fireplace, food stocked, and all of the books in the hotel library? Where do I sign up?

I'd also go up and down the halls and stairs to keep cardio going- maybe due a lot of isometric exercises.

I tend towards being anti-social anyway, so I could do a seven month caretaker gig with my eyes closed.

Just watched the first bar scene. Jack said 5 months, but at the beginning of the movie, they said the hotel was open from May 15th to October 30th. So I’m not sure how long they are by themselves.

Staff might be there before and after that time frame?

Sitting here watching this movie just had me wondering. It’s just you, your wife

Odd, my wife and I are sitting here watching The Shining (on Showtime Paramount+) while I'm pursuing the O-T.

She just asked me almost the exact same question ... then she starting talking about us staying up at the Grove Park Inn when we're in Asheville next month.

We've talked about visiting The Stanley .... we may try to do it yet.

Stayed at the Stanley last summer. It’s nothing like the creepy vibe that you get from the hotel in the movie.
