The problem is that recreational use becomes addiction.
It's 11 my time and I still haven't smoked yet.
That addiction just hasn't quite sunk in yet after 22 years of smoking.

According to Jjdoc who claims to be a physician there are hundreds of fatal marijuana overdoses yearly. I wish I could find that thread.
Bleeding Purple swears he has patients going through withdrawals of marijuana

its like drinking coffee, you cant OD no matter how much you take but you can drown and/or choke yourself to death forcing it down
Well that's not true
10 grams of caffeine can kill a non using adult male.
2 grams can send kids into a cardiac event.
A caramel machiatto with eight extra shots of espresso, a rockstar, and two cigarettes made me puke all over a French final

Having smoked marijuana for a long period of time and stopped smoking marijuana I can assure you there is a withdraw period. Loss of sleep, lucid dreams and a strong desire to smoke more to get back normal.

Worst of all the potheads think they should be allowed to force your grandma to smoke weed because she has cancer

I guess it depends on the person or why they are quitting.
If I have to quit it's no biggie. 3 days and I'm good.
I too have smoked for a long period of time.

Yeah, for 3 days I'm a complete wreck

You can OD on anything. Even Water or Oxygen.

In terms of how a doc explained his patients symptoms we aren't on the same page.

I am not sure if I would label not being able to sleep as well for a few days withdrawal symptoms.
Posted on 9/12/18 at 2:07 pm to mouton
Other withdrawal symptoms include getting a job, accomplishing tasks on time, and being a generally responsible adult.

So you don't think most marijuana users are responsible adults?

The stereotypical stoner didn't become a thing because the typical marijuana user is a clear thinking responsible member of society man.
In fact, that's the whole reason marijuana legalizers face an uphill battle. People like me, fundamentally I believe a person should have the right to snort cocaine if that's what they want to do . However, unless and until smokers begin treating pot like alcohol, you'll never win us over.
For example, how many pot smokers ran out to Colorado when they legalized recreational pot screaming such stuidity as "yeah I'm going to Colorado where my boss won't be able to fire me for smoking pot?" Quite a few if you're honest, and they quickly learned that oh yes your boss can still fire you for smoking pot, same as he can fire you for being a drunk. And that pissed them off more. So right there they weren't behaving like responsible adults. A responsible adult would say "hey I work for them, they can fire me for smoking pot, if they don't want smokers working for them"
Etc, etc.

People that advertise they smoke marijuana are usually the stereotypical stoner. The vast majority of pot smokers do not fit this stereotype and do not advertise that they use marijuana.

Yes, just stirred the pot into the brownie mix and put it in the oven.
You might have gotten a little bit high but it was mostly placebo. You have to infuse the weed with a fat first, like oil or butter.

Before cooking with cannabis, you must decarboxylate it. First, let’s be clear: don’t just throw unactivated, raw flower into your batter or dish. Not only will it taste bad, it won’t allow the cannabinoids to fully activate and bind to lipids. That means you won’t feel much of anything and will have only succeeded in wasting precious cannabis.
Putting it out there so others don't make the same mistake. Lots of cannabutter recipes out there.

I smoked daily for a number of years. Quit when my kids became old enough to notice if Dad had bloodshot eyes, an affinity for nachos, and found it entertaining to watch the numbers change on a digital clock. I experienced none of the symptoms I described. Not saying you didn't, just that maybe it affects people differently.
While anyone who would deny marijuana to an individual for medical reasons is an idiot, I'm not certain I'm in favor of full scale legalization. While years of regular use left me with no lasting effects, it's pretty evident that children with developing brains can be harmed by marijuana use, much as they can by alcohol use and other substances. So I'm not one of these who thinks everyone should be stoned all the time. I never used while at work, it was always a recreational thing to help me chill out and relax and put the big picture in better perspective. But these people claiming that pot ruins lives, leads to hard drug use, and will be the downfall of society if it's decriminilizated to any degree know as much about marijuana as they do about thermonuclear physics.

I'm not gonna argue with you because you weren't there and I don't know anything about infusing weed with butter. My days of partaking of the herb are long over so I don't pretend to be an expert. But I'm telling you, we were comatose for most of the next day. And we had cooked brownies before with a much smaller amount while completely sober and gotten a nice buzz. Maybe the quality of our weed was a lot better than we thought because I know firsthand you don't HAVE to infuse it with anything. Now, I'm not saying this infusion process doesn't make the use of marijuana in edibles more efficient. I know absolutely nothing about it and am not qualified to discuss it. But to suggest it's absolutely necessary to do it first or you won't get high is complete and utter bullshite. We smoked daily back then and what we had wasn't a "placebo effect"

Sorry, bro. It's science.

THCA has a number of known benefits when consumed, including having anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective qualities. But THCA is not intoxicating, and must be converted into THC through decarboxylation before any effects can be felt.
You consumed THCA. THCA has to be converted to THC to become intoxicating. Now, a small amount of decarbing probably occurred when you baked it, but not a significant amount. What you're claiming right now is like claiming you got drunk on grape juice before fermenting it.
