People are saying that humans have to now fight to remain relevant, which is a very dystopian take. And yet…

prior to ideological battle lines dividing the larger conflict, the first casualties of the coming unpleasantness will be data centers. allegedly

No, but I can use AI to help me with my job.

No. I asked AI, and this was the response:

quote:

"Safe" Jobs: Positions requiring high emotional intelligence, physical dexterity, and complex, unpredictable environments are safest, including healthcare, trades, education, and creative professions.

Capitalizing on AI: Rather than AI itself, individuals who know how to use AI tools effectively are likely to take over roles from those who do not

Parts of it, sure

Half of my job is field based, so I feel as though that part is safe for awhile

The other half is mind numbing tasks like approving invoices, writing POs, writing internal reports, which I would and will gladly give over to AI

No, there are some physical aspects working in a plant that A.I. just can’t do.

AI can take any job, with the way people are talking about it, and, if it comes to fruition, it will.

I have discussed the difference between previous new tech booms and this one.

Never before has it been “replace the worker” on this scale.

And there isn’t a “just shift to AI repair and management”.

Can AI obtain a PE license?

Bingo. Anyone in my field, legal, who can't figure out how to properly use AI will be screwed. You won't be as productive if you don't use it, and if you do use it but don't know how to use it properly you are going to be screwed with hallucinated cites and wrong case holdings (for now).

Until a robot can do it and then you are irrelevant.

Even the physical aspects of my field, medicine, will ultimately be replaced.

Robot and AI surgeries, lac repairs, fracture reduction, intubation, etc.

AI and a robot

Probably not until all agency regulators are bots as well. The siting, design, and permitting of offshore infrastructure is case by case but I'm aware enough to know that eventually AI could do most of it. Do the siting analysis, prepare construction drawings, and do the various studies for a permit package. Especially if another bot is requesting the information.

I can’t wait for the first AI lawyer or judge.

Theoretically. They would still need someone to check the work after the fact because AI has issues with doing exactly what you ask it vs what it actually needs to do in order to work.

No.

Can it take jobs from others in my profession? Absolutely.

Yeah. I was trying to envision how AI would take the field part of my job, and imagining the AI robot version of me meeting with the AI robot regulator to discuss how to fix issues causes by AI robot operators...

Or would they even need AI versions of all of those jobs if the AI bots knew everything already?

I feel as though that might be long enough away that I'll be happily retired by then

And when the efficiency quadruples by removing the human element?

I'm using DEXA scanning and Copilot Health AI as a full time personal trainer and nutritionist to augment the real life personal trainer and nutritionist I'm seeing once a month. It is far superior in its focus on health, fitness and exercise than any other AI that I've used. My real life personal trainer is amazed by the accuracy, plus the DEXA scans allow it to focus my workouts where they can do the most good.

It doesn't stop me from using a trainer to help me, but it does allow both of us to feel confident we're working out the best and safest way to achieve my fitness goals.
