I don’t understand the this company is requiring customers to wear masks and I’m pissed off about it people. Its not that big of a deal to wear a mask In public for a few months. A lot of these stores will probably end up handing out free masks anyway.

Medical professionals and first responders will still receive priority access and can move to the front of the line by showing a Costco membership card and proof of their profession through an I.D. badge.

Yeah it’s weird because the vast majority of medical professionals are sitting on their arse just like the rest of us. Most hospitals are empty.

This doesn't apply to those unable to wear a face mask due to medical condition

So don’t wear one and say it’s a medical condition.

Those masks are a great move to stop the spread...especially since everyone will be wearing masks as they use the same credit card keypads

So wash your hands like you should have been doing since mid march. Wow that was tough to get past.

After the great NSFW post now you are tough guy boycotting Costco for following government orders? Disappoint.

How do you think football season will be going down? You're going to need a ticket and a mask to get in the stadium this fall. #fact

Why effective May 4th. Apparently it’s safer to go in for the next 5 days (or for the last couple of months). Monday must be when the real contagious version hits the stores.

Exactly. This is just another arbitrary reaction. No different from JBE thinking 2 more weeks in quarantine will make the big, bad virus go away.

It’s not about wearing the mask. I shop at Costco and I’ll acquiesce to the new rules. It’s just ridiculous that it was okay forever and now all of a sudden it’s a mandate. I guess an uptick of cases has been attributed to contact at Costco.

This is just another example of evolving narratives, people making policy as a reaction to other stupid policy enacted prior, and the absurdity of this entire situation.

Are you going to throw your membership card into the pile that already contains...checks list....Nike apparel, Keurig coffemakers, Starbucks cups, and NFL jerseys?

Alpha move, kid.

I'm more complex than just tits and arse.

Edit: and I'm not "protesting" Costco. I'll just shop somewhere else until this policy goes away. I could not care less if you decide to go there.

As the lockdowns ease and human traffic increases, social distancing will become more difficult requiring more proactive measures to be enacted within stores.

We’ve had to wear masks in all businesses in Pittsburgh. Really hasn’t been a big deal. It’s a very minor inconvenience and you can take it off once you leave the store.

I think it's simply they didn't want people hoarding medical masks when they were concerned hospitals/medical offices might not be able to acquire PPE.

Also, some states as they open up are requiring businesses to ensure their personnel have masks and are suggesting their customers do as well. I imagine it's a liability issue as much as anything going forward.
