I think Costco has better “stuff” then Sams but Sam’s selection is plenty good enough and Scan and Go puts it over the top IMO especially if you have to go at peak times.
Sams could be absolutely packed to the gills but with Scan and Go, you’ll be in and out!

Mrs Vader and I went to Sam’s yesterday afternoon. She has the Sam’s “Scan & Go” app. As we shopped, all she has to do is scan items as we put them in the buggy. It even keeps up with your total as you shop. When you’re done click check out and you’re done. They have these arches you walk though at the door that tells the greeter you’re good to go. It makes shopping as easy as putting items in your cart, taking them out loading them up, and going home.

A lot of places are like this. I bought some beer thru self chekout at Winn Dixie. It alerts to worker to come check id, then they clear you to continue checkout process.

A few weeks ago I had to put some wine bottles on some end cap because I wasn't going to wait in the longer cashier checkout when self checkout was much shorter.
Costco is great for a lot of stuff and Kirkland is still generally better than Members Mark but Sam's strengths in tech with scan and go and services like store pickup overall make shopping at Sam's much more pleasant.

My Costco (Southlake, Texas) has lines backed up into the merchandise aisles on weekends. It is one of the worst managed I've been to.

This must be a relatively new policy. I always use self checkout and I almost always have some form of alcohol in my cart. I've never had an issue before but it's been a few months since I went to Costco (I'm in BR)

Sam’s Club is on sale again, got mine for $20. I do a lot of produce and honestly Costco’s produce is shite especially their frozen fruit. Meats I would also give the edge to Sam’s. Pre-made meals just for variety and I got food poisoning from a Sam’s Greek salad I would have to go with Costco. Food court I don’t care for either but slight advantage to Costco for the cookies. Costco also gets the nod for tech and tires but that’s more niche so I will leave it be. They both sell cheap flat screen TVs leave it at that

What Costco is this. At mine the lady working the self checkout area just comes and keys it off.
Hell most of the time the lady at self checkout scans most of my stuff.
