They can at any time unilaterally change the agreement. That is literally in every agreement.

Very rare. But, you may be correct in this instance. I have not seen their agreement. Are you speaking from knowledge or just believe this to be true?

I read agreements.
This goes for internet, apps, services, etc.. it is even in your mortgage paperwork (the attorney can correct things on your paperwork on your behalf without consulting you).

The problem is that these agreements are taken as is or don't use those services.

I haven't read the thread, and I'm not going to.

My only question is if customers that don't want to wear masks can get a membership refund.

If costco wants to change it's policy with no notice, that's fine, but members should get refunds if costco isn't handing out free masks at the door.

Since he is a member, there is a contract involved. What does it say about this?

Why are you so judgmental. If there is a membership contract then both parties are obligated to comply with the terms of the agreement. If the contract provides the authority for them to implement certain rules then so be it. If not, then the shoppe was right to resist and the store should not have treated him as they did.

While I don't believe the government has the right to make you wear a mask, I don't think wearing a mask in normal social situation is necessary at all, and if you think everyone should wear a mask you should just stay your arse home I do support the rights of private property owners to restrict entry on their PRIVATE PROPERTY for any reason, including the stupid reason of having to wear a mask.

Dude is a fricking moron, probably votes straight ticket republican and doesn't know what the frick liberty means.

He should have just told the manager he is medically exempt per his doctor's orders. That has worked for me three times so far when some Karen manager has hassled me over my non-mask wearing ways.

One asked what medical condition would cause that my simple response of the information is protected by HIPAA shut that down with quickness. Every manager has had HIPAA drilled into them by HR and know they can't "fight" HIPAA.

So I actually watched the video and read the thread.

1. The guy is a bigger cuck than I thought, nah, he is not a cuck, he is a giant pussy.
2. Costco and Sams will refund your membership for any reason up until 364 days into the membership, full refund no questions asked.
3. That manager kept his cool and treated the guy better than he deserved.
4. Bonus, if anyone wants to rip on a Costco Manager, their starting salary is probably higher than most of the OT. The LOWEST a salaried manager makes is around $77k, and they have a lot of them in each building. The upper management is well over $100k before bonuses, I don't know what kind of bonuses they make. Hourly supervisors make $60k plus working 40 hours a week. The regular ole employees are making $50k after 6 years on the job without any promotions. Sure, that isn't all the money in the world but that is pretty good for no post high school education.

Wasn't being judgemental at all just simply stating a fact. He's got the freedom to shop elsewehere plain and simple. Plus, this dingus knew what he was doing and did this simply for attention. That said I've never actually read or do I care to peer through the contract of a Costco membership. But I'm sure in the legal fluff they reserve the right to apply restrictions as they see fit..
That said, if you don't like a certain stores policy juat go somewhere else.

I had a roommate in college that used to buy a bunch of black Friday items at Walmart and return them a few months later with no receipt for the current price. You guys would be peas in a pod.

If you don't like a store's policy, don't shop there. I may disagree with something about their policy, but I'll respect their wishes rather than lie

Yeah, its in the first paragraph of their agreement that they can change their policies at any time and will include the changes to the contract if they still apply when you renew. As a private retailer they can also refuse entry to anyone as long as its not due to discrimination

Hahaha

Blah blah blah “scientists”

Do you really need someone to list the contradictory statements by “scientists” about masks?
