I don’t think they’re adopting it on purpose, just like they don’t have curbside. Scan and go would just encourage people to move faster in the store, which would discourage impulse purchases, which Costco thrives on.

Supposedly they have it coming.
It is. They’re already testing it in some stores.

Yeah the Saturday that everyone is stocking up for back to school supplies and food is an extra bad time to go.

I always go during weekdays, preferably Monday or Tuesday and use the benefit of my Executive Member Card to get in earlier than the basic card holders.
I can have 20+ things on my list that have me walking all over the store and can usually get out under 1 hour after arriving, and that includes walking to and from my vehicle in the lot.

That's why Sam's Scan and Go is unbeatable.
Absolutely love it. It's crazy how many people at Sam's in Ellick are still standing in line six deep instead of using S&G.

They do it in Metry as well, really don't understand it either...

Yep
LSU move in weekend. It’s a cluster. River Road looks like a Gameday.

I got eyeglasses that needed to be fitted. But that only took 15 minutes. I took my grocery shopping to Sam's

Another reason for Sam’s club superiority.
Website prices aren’t marked up.

Just came back from a packed Costco in Hoover, Alabama. Collected 10 items, zoomed through self checkout, and it was not terrible. So, checkout for me was about 5 mins. Hardly a space left in the parking lot as well.
I did encounter bunches of slow moving shoppers with no spatial awareness and a handful of loud “scuse mes” got em out of the way.
