JCPenney is the most expensive window treatment provider out there. Their quote was 3x my lowest bid from a local provider. It's well known by interior designers that JCPenney is outrageous. FWIW - they were 3X higher than my lowest local bid on the bamboo shades, plantation shutters and wooden blinds each so it's not like one item drove their price up.

They send someone out to measure. I think it cost me 1500.00 total to do 16-18 windows which one was a huge bay window

But come on 20 grand?

JCPenney's 1st quote for us was $25,000. I laughed in her face and showed her the door. Didn't even tell my husband their quote.

I don't understand hiring this out. Taking a few measurements and hanging them yourself is very easy. Anyone can do it, and it takes very little time. You should be able to measure, buy, hang an entire house in less than a day.

Depends.

A real company will come measure your windows and install blinds that look great.

A discount company will sell you blinds that kinda fit and look like shite.

I've done both, and I'll never buy cheap blinds again.

Just did this for my daughters home. They will guide you through the process and it's really easy.

They look nice as well.

O wow! I got curtains from jc penny, not blinds. They weren't custom, but look good. They were a little more than target.

We paid north of 4K for our house. We have a lot of big windows so we had some special orders. Unbelievable how expensive they are.

sometimes you get what you pay for with blinds, check and see if there's any warranties against sagging and warping.

Plantation shutters are very expensive when getting them measured, ordered, cut and installed by someone else. I just get faux wood because I'm not rich.

I ordered through justblinds.com. Prices weren't bad and they came in quickly.

We got the faux wood ones and they were really easy to install. I honestly don't know why someone doesn't partner with them and install them. It took two of us less than an hour to do our 3 bedroom house. You could make some serious money and would only get faster and better at it the more you did it.

Tried quoting prices off just blinds and blinds.com that are similar. Wife coming at me like a spider monkey over the phone. Really wants this blind woman to come up in our home and install these blinds. Looks like my wallet loses.
