We came up to BR a few times in the early 90s and went to Cortana. I think we ate at Ruby Tuesdays. Was that there?

I just want to remind everyone about that filthy arse Piccadilly in Cortana.

You mean the awesome Piccadilly. You could choose which line you wanted to go down. Serve ya?

Cortana was a good mall and deserves respect and fond memories but most mall experts would agree it was pretty bland and basic.

Who are these malls experts?

It was an awesome place to go to the State Fair, then somebody bought it and built a mall. The corn dogs were awesome, but they had cheese on a stick, dipped in the cornbread batter that were close to heavenly.

Symbolically enough, the first Walmart I ever saw/went to was across the street from Cortana

Was trying to find a vintage pic of the fountains and this was the closest I could get

Anybody got the mid 90s store layout map?

youtube before closed walkthrough, fountains @15 min

Not a horrible video just not vintage Cortana

Would really like one showing the movie theater that was in the middle

The huge housing project directly behind it kill Bon Marche. Only went there for 2010 anyways.

Yes. It was close to the Maison Blanche entrance.

I remember the movie theater that was at bon Marche but not the one at Cortana. I guess mom never took us to that one. When the theater closed, did it get turned into one of the dept stores? I'm just trying to picture where it would've been in cortana.

I can’t remember if Children’s Palace was by Cortana or Bon Marche? That place was awesome too.

Yes my memory of what happened to the theater is fuzzy as well. I do remember seeing a sneak preview of the original Predator there. That would’ve been 87.

The Atchafalaya bridge?

No, there is a 2 lane bridge between Amelia and Morgan City. It is the Bayou Ramos Bridge.

Something hit it 3 years ago, and DOTD is just now in the bid process and may start construction later this year.
