I didn't expect to still be awake at 1 am much less crying. God bless your family and hug that wife of yours. Congrats on the new baby to come.

That’s essentially the way I’m looking at it. My grandfather had COPD, asthma, and emphysema. He was on a CPAP machine 24/7 and had been for probably close to 10 years now. We all looked at it with the thought process of “hey we got one more year with him, that’s just bonus at this point.” My grandmother didn’t have the internal health issues he did, but she wasn’t the strongest person ever if that makes sense. She was always falling, and injuring herself that way.

Just wish I’d have gotten to tell them both goodbye. I didn’t get to tell my grandmother about the baby on the way, but I made sure to tell my grandfather the day she died just in case he was right after her. Tough old bull made of a whole almost two weeks.

It's the not being able to say goodbye or be able to hug your mother .. THAT is awful. I mean I get it but it's awful.

This thread is hitting me pretty hard. My papaw just turned 90 last month, while we lost my grandma about a year ago. He's in great shape for his age, and what little he isn't able to do I pretty much tend to and just keep watch over him.. but the thought of him catching kungflu has worried me for weeks. He and my grandma pretty much raised me and I have always looked up to him more than most grandchildren with grandparents.

He lives in a pretty rural area in MS and as far as I know the virus hasn't made a foothold here, yet, but I know it's just a matter of time.

Sorry for you loss man. I can't even imagine.. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Sorry for your loss. It looks like grandpa and grandma lived a pretty good life. While now is a time for mourning, you will be able to celebrate lives well-lived soon.

Also, congrats on the coming baby.

My man I watched video. You are blessed with a great family. It has to be hard not to grieve all together as a unit. I will have your pawpaw and mawmaw along with the rest of your family in my prayers.

Prayers for you and your family. That child you are expecting will be special, in a way you won't fully realize at first. Whether its embodiments of your grandparents you see over time or just the joy it brings. All the best in the difficult days and months ahead.
