So 30 seconds of plugging numbers into an exponential regression calculator predicted 4,555 cases by today. I'll be damned.

Fwiw, that same formula would predict around 6,800 cases by tomorrow.

Use a different calculator and run the same numbers and then tell us if those figures are correct or not.

Do you happen to have a link or recall where you read that?

Long article, but worth reading in its entirety. The part about vaccines, specifically the measles vaccine, is near the end.

I’m surprised the death curve is as close to SARS as it is.

If that's based on reported numbers...

Wasn't a big deal with SARS that death rate was seriously underreported/skewed in the first couple of weeks?

Obviously the same could occur here, or it could explain why it doesn't seem to align with what we know about SARS today

WHO came back later and revised the SARS rate to 14-15% fatality because the information initially released was underreported. Chinese were lying about it then, and they're DEFINITELY lying about it now.

For every one that died in a hospital there might be a hundred rotting in their apartments right now. The smell is supposedly permeating some of these high rises and nobody is going to find out for fear of contracting it. And nobody from the government is there yet looking for victims in their homes. We're two weeks out from finding out we should be freaking the hell out right now.

They used "Coronavirus Like" virus, so not confirmed. There might be more of this currently going on in countries that don't have the resources of China.

ETA: the fact that we are not really seeing this expand in the US, Canada and other modern more transparent countries is a good sign, at this point.

How is the traffic between China and India? Light?

I’m just surprised a case hasn’t been confirmed there yet. 2 massive populations sharing a border.

I think you could be right.

Or it could explain why the graphs put this on the same mortality level as SARS when most seem to believe it’s a far less deadly virus.

Don't you be doin no jinxing.....I am in India right now for few more days and don't need this shite here before I come back

If I had to venture a guess though, ya traffic is usually light. And shared border is prolly at high elevation and not huge population density on either side....that is if I were to guess
