Hmmm. Kids are returning to school statewide early April here. Don’t see how with the big bad corona, well that’s what the media has us to believe...

I dont see kids returning to school, esp with these tests coming back and the president waiving standardized testing. I think that is what Governor has been waiting on..... Just my opinion...

Just because that was the initial date given to return, it doesn't mean they won't change their minds and just end up cancelling the rest of this school year.

My guess is we are just trying to get out of this initial surge. There will still be cases later when we open back up.

This is correct

Virus running amok with 0% population immunity is worse than the virus running amok with 10-20% immunity.

BUT negative today does not mean negative in a few days or weeks. Sigh.

That's [one reason] why we need widespread cheap easy antibody testing.

I have a question that I have not seen any information on. Is this virus only transmitted by humans or can it survive on say a package that is delivered by UPS or others and be spread that way? Sorry if this has been discussed or is just stupid, but I really have no idea all the ways this thing can spread.
I am self quarantined and have been so for months because I take chemo pills to keep my cancer in remission. I have no immune system so I don’t want to risk getting this, so thanks in advance for any tips or answers and I pray for the safety of all.

They probably worded it as “at least April”.

I'm no doctor but I imagine it can stay active outside the body for some amount of time that varies with the environment. I'd open the packages, throw them out, wipe down the goods, wash my hands before touching my face. That'd be my plan if I were you.

Disclaimer: I'm an engineer, last biology class I took was in 2011.

I know Kemp worded it as GA schools closed until 3/31.

So as of right now the plan is for them to start back up 4/1...We all know that isnt going to happen.

Welp, so much for the lockdown working (this is in the time period now where a slowdown should have happened based on when Italy went full lockdown). We might as well go on about our daily lives and start rebuilding the economy and let the chips fall where they may as far as who gets sick.

The head of the Lombardy region says the data is showing that the slowdown isn't happening unbelievable and that he wants the government to increase the restrictions and even use the army there. The amount of suffering in Italy is tragic.

So I told you guys I would keep you posted. My test results confirmed I am positive for covid. My wife and two girls age 12 and 15 positive as well. I feel extremely drained and I have a persistent cough. Feels similar to to having the flu. My kids are showing no symptoms at all. My work place is telling me that they expect me back in two weeks. I am not bummed out or anything. This just gives me time with my family. I am gonna keep this thread updated as I progress through it. Thank you all for the positive remarks and support. You guys are the best.

Early on, I heard a doctor on one of the morning shows say that it could live up to 12 hours on metal and for I think 6 or 9 hours on cardboard as in Amazon packages etc. Not sure if correct but that is what was said by that one physician.

I'm not "fixing it for you" because you were correct. I just added another task you should STRONGLY consider.

Godspeed, sir.

Quick add....do you have a fever? My mother-in-law is on self-isolation with a new, bad cough, but she says it's wet and she has no fever. We assume it's pollen, but they aren't going to test her for the giggles, so....
